Usually you can't go wrong with Chevy's fun, festive environment... unless you visit this Emeryville location on a Sunday around noon. Originally, they gave us a difficult time about making a reservation for 5 adults and 2 kids, but when we arrived, we could see that the reservations were not necessary. We were among maybe five total tables being served, with empty tables all around us. The three hostesses at the front were all totally rude and uninterested in helping to seat us. Finally, they got around to pointing at the table where we should sit. Before we seated ourselves though, one of the hostesses who was blowing up balloons at the front popped one right next to us. Obviously this happens and isn't a big deal, but it made us all jump and she didn't even apologize or comment to us. Once we were seated, our waitress couldn't be bothered to smile or say hello once we sat down, and was completely rude throughout the entire lunch. Our food came out one order at a time, with the child's bean burrito being the very last to be served (about 10 minutes after the adult meals had been served). Needless to say, we were unimpressed. A few additional things: we had to ask 3 times for the brunch menu (she kept saying, ""You have them"", but of course we didn't.), when we asked for an additional bowl of salsa for the chips, she basically threw it down on the table next to the first bowl, and right after our food arrived, our waitress said ""do you need anything else, cause I'm going home. I'd much rather be at home right now."" Maybe she was just having a bad day, but unless there is a complete change in the staffing at this restaurant, I will never visit this Chevy's again.\r \r The one nice thing is the view, as the restaurant is located right on the bay. And of course, the food is always good. I feel bad for the cooks at this Chevy's because they do not deserve to be punished for the horrible service that goes on in the front of the house. Pros: reliable food, view of the bay Cons: the service is the worst
