Review content:
A return visit to Daltons proved worth the trip. The meat and three selections are terrific. The turnip greens and white bean side dishes are great. Corn bread cakes are perfect. Sunday (after church) it gets crowded, so it is recommended to get there early for lunch. The odd and inconvenient method of paying is problematic and especially so during busy times. The front bar/manager is the only way to pay for your meal, so customers have to get up from their table and stand at the bar (sometimes in line) behind other seated bar patrons, reach around people seated at the bar, and deal with payment of their bill, which of course sometimes involves signing of credit card vouchers, etc. Not only is this a major inconvenience for the people who have to walk over to the bar to pay, but the people seated and often eating at the bar get irritated with the constant flow of reach-around bill paying customers getting sometimes too close for comfort while paying their bill. This is very odd and seems easy to fix by designating one area at the bar for payment, away from the bar-seated patrons. Or, just accept payment at the table like all other restaurants do. The food is good though. Give it a try.
Pros: Good meat and three, plus other foods. No smoking!
Cons: Payment system is weird.
