Me and my daughter went to Merry's to order her shower,groom and wedding cake. We gave them a picture of the red & black mad hatter cake we wanted and they said no problem they could replicate it. When we picked up the shower cake is was a worker and not Mary. The cake had so many differences and was so ugly. We were horrified. We had no choice but to continue on to the shower. It should have had roses & bows but instead it had black round balls scattered around and odd leaves and flat daisy like flowers. We ordered pound cake with cannoli filling but got chocolate and the filling was to thin to tell what it was. It also was covered in spotty glitter which looked horrible. The cake was unusable for the shower but we tasted it before we threw it away and it tasted like a dry box cake with a sour flavor. When we called and spoke with Mary on the way to the shower to voice our concerns she just laughed and hung up on us.I emailed once we were home to cancel the other cakes and received a nasty response. It took 60 days to receive a refund for the other 2 cakes we ordered. This was difficult for us because we paid her in full for the cakes and it was only one month before the wedding. So we not only had to find a new baker on such short notice but the money bugeted she held on to until one month after the wedding. Even then I had to email her to say the 60 days are up before she mailed a check out. When I did receive a check it was minus a 100.00 deposit fee. Which was really unfair since she refused to make the other cakes anyway. her words were ""I wouldn't make you another cake for a million dollars"" It would take much more space then allowed to tell all the details of how nasty and unprofessional Mary the owner treated us. I uploaded 2 photos of a black and red mad hatter cake to the photo gallery. One is the picture we gave them and the other is the cake we received. I'm sure it will be no problem to see which one was from Merry's. I am thankful that I had the experience with the shower cake before I had a disaster on my daughter's wedding day. PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR SPECIAL OCCASION CAKE. SAVE YOURSELF THE AGGRAVATION!!!
