Businiess name:  Whitt's Barbecue
Review by:  citysearch c.
Review content:
It always aggrieves when Whitt's is voted ""best BBQ in Nashville"" in the Nashville Scene. What's worse is the fact that Whitt's continually crows about this dubious honor. I've had the opportunity to travel throughout the Southeast and Midwest, and I've become quite a fan of good BBQ - especially BBQ pork (sorry Texas). That being said, I've come to the following conclusion: Whitt's is crappy BBQ. Not only is the meat dry and mealy, the sauces are sub par as well. Only in a town as devoid of good BBQ joints could a restaurant like Whitt's be rated #1. Indeed, Whitt's is to BBQ what McDonald's is to hamburgers: It's cheap and will fill you up in a pinch; however, it's not what any discerning soul would call top-notch cuisine. Pros: cheap Cons: dry meat, crappy sauce
