I've been going to Salon 21 for years. Rella is the owner and is my hairstylist -- and a fantastic one at that. She is extremely talented and versatile as are those on her staff. The salon offers so many services, such as hair color, cutting, perming, extensions, and a whole array of spa services, including massages, facials, and so much more. Whenever I walk into Salon 21 I am greeted with warmth and professionalism. I feel like I'm not just getting my hair cut...I feel like it's more of an event! Kind of walking into another world -- one of relaxation and a genuine interest in making me feel good about the way I look and feel. I would highly recommend Salon 21 to anyone and everyone. Just step through the doors of Salon 21 one time and you'll want to keep coming back.

Wheaton Sport Center has expanded and grown over the past 20 years. Forget your typical and crowded gym clubs.... this is a private center set off of a road near a small pond with occasional ducks swimming around. The club has a very professional staff committed to serving their members. The club consists of 8 clay tennis courts, indoor courts, volleyball, therapy pool, indoor track, upstairs gym, spa, and the list can go on. The center also has tennis pros who teach adults and juniors, from private to group lessons. I did spot a very well-known player here once too! For the ones who have a serious tennis side...this is definitely the place to be.

Traditional barbers with the goods. Be prepared to wait Saturday mornings as Wheaton is a 'burb AND most guys work in DT Chicagoland... like myself-- a bike / train commuter.
My preferred guys are.... like you wouldn't like from the line-up?
Pros: Real trained barbers- 3 with the goods; 2 more from the retirement pool & a young pup
Cons: too many customers, HA on sat. AM in front of me.

More
I see a hairdresser named Stefan at this salon and have to say that he is a very good stylist. He is English and comes across as a bit abrasive at first. But having known that this is somewhat their culture, it's not so intimidating if your not the easily offended type. As a matter of fact, we always have good conversation, but he is certainly not the warm and fuzzy type.
I have thus far been very satisfied with the service and the cuts he has given me. He knows what he's doing and does it with confidence. I recommend him at this salon, but be prepared to pay for it, his services do not come cheap. In my experience the best hair dressers will always be the ones that you have to pay a little more in order to get the best results. The old cliché "you get what you pay for" is true in this case. I have thick, coarse hair that is not easy to work with, I always seek out the best hair dressers because of this knowledge. Let me tell you that this is worth doing!
As for their spa, I have had prenatal massage done there, and facial waxing. I have only had great experience there with these services as well.

My husband got me a gift certificate for a full day of pampering....it was the best experience I have ever had. Everybody there is so friendly and they really make you feel comfortable. And it was very inexpensive compared to a lot of other big spas. I would definately recommend this place.

More
Wheaton Massage Therapy is a group of massage therapists specializing in many various techniques of massage. The center has a "no tipping" policy because of its philosophy that it is a medically centered facility rather than a day spa. Prices vary depending on how long you would like a massage. They do offer discounts if you purchase massages in multiple sessions. There are many therapists to choose from. Their bios are located on their website, along with much more information. I have had many massage sessions there and am very pleased with the results that I have received. I like that their philosophy is medically based because the focus is on the necessary relief of sore muscles.

The customer is truly queen (or king) here. They offered to take my coat as soon as I walked in the door and asked if I wanted anything to drink. My massuese was very prompt. She was also very courteous and professional. She did an excellent job with my massage, although she was not clear on what service I was there for. My payment was handled accurately and efficiently. The staff at the front desk were able to answer all my questions about their other services. I would definitely go back!

I've been getting my hair done by Alpha for years. She is a sweetheart that really knows what to do with curly hair.
While my hair isn't curly, I have enough "curls" that certain cuts and styles just do not work for me. I've never had a problem with any of the cuts Alpha has given me. She is a master at the simple but stylish.

I started with my hairstylist, Dana, back when Allure was on Roosevelt Road. I followed her when they moved in at the Curlery on Liberty. I think their facility leaves a bit to be desired, but what do I care, as long as I get my hair cut the way I like it. They offer bagels and cream cheese in the morning and coffee. It's a pretty friendly and casual environment and I would say their prices are about average for this area. I can't imagine going to a different place or to a different hair stylist.

More
This is a fairly large rehabilitation center run by the Franciscan Sisters that keeps expanding. The physical and occupational therapists are very good at what they do. They are really focused and give attention to each and every patient. There is also a cafeteria for the patients with a menu that they can pick and choose from. The only downside is, some of the staff and assistants...they don't seem too attentive and bright as far as assisting and recognizing patients problems.
