Quite a few years ago I left my cat here telling the receptionist Mikey was sick & needed attention soon. It was 7 a.m. I left for work. At 10:45 a vet called me at work, Dr Kreuger, who is no longer at the clinic, & said Mikey was in critical condition, that she had arrived at 10:30 to find that he was dying in his cage. She said the technician had done the intake exam & failed to notice that Mikey had a urinary blockage; his bladder was full. For 3.5 hours the techs & any vet that was present walked by Mikey's cage while he lay dying. For 5 days & nights he was on an I.V. Yes, he survived due to his own will to live. He is now 13 yrs old & healthy. Since Griffith closed at 6 p.m. & had no one at all to check on Mikey during the night & b/c he was on an I.V., they decided he couldn't stay there overnight. So I had to rush from work every night & pick up my cat by 6 p.m. with the I.V. & take him through rushhour traffic to the Emergency Hosp on Research for the night. Pick him up by 7 a.m. the next morning when the Emerg Hosp closes, ferry him back to Griffith for day care. At the end of a week he was well enough to take off the I.V. Dr Kreuger told me the accident was my fault b/c my cat was so fat the tech could not feel his bladder. And it was not their fault the tech missed the full bladder. No one admitted the tech was incompetent & that a vet should have done the exam. I paid $1200 for the week of care & they were kind enough to let me pay on time over the next year. But not on the trust system. Instead, the office manager took my credit card no. & the first of each month the nice office manager charged my card untill I paid back every dime for the damage they did him. For all the people who say this hosp is wonderful, well you didn't have the tech I had or an unconscionable doctor blaming you for the screw up. Never ever again since then have I ever left an animal of mine at the vet's. I take time off from work & I wait & I do not leave the animal there. Such a horror was this. Pros: None Cons: Unsafe place & greedy PR man at the helm
