Review content:
If you're a tech savvy, food buff who loves live music, wine bars and the environment, you need to check out T1 Tapas. At first glance it may seem like your ordinary restaurant, minus the high definition projectors and trendy styling. But sit down at one of the "tech-booths" and prepare to engage in a VERY different dining experience. The table is an enormous touch screen menu with detailed descriptions of menu items including pictures and pricing. When you've decided what to eat, the in-table computer morphs into a user-friendly entertainment center with movie trailers, radio stations, sports channels and picture slide shows. (I actually met here for a business meeting and plugged in my laptop to use the wide screen TV above our booth as a display screen.) Speakers are implanted into the seats and headrests and have adjustable volume controls for privacy. With all the entertainment possibilities I was pleasantly surprised to find the food was actually, very good. They had several healthy, organic options with generous portions and also strive to support local farmers. Add to that a great beer and wine list, several hot tea options and live music on select days of the week...I was almost overwhelmed at how many themes they had going. That being said, they somehow embrace them all quite successfully. So...barring a major computer crash or operations failure, T1 is a definite winner. Too bad there's not a place like this in uptown. Pros: Techy gadgets, excellent food, eco-friendly Cons: No second location
