Well I went and my hair looks great! It looks natural, fun and flirty. Robbert did extensive correcting with the color and cut and now I love my hair again. The atmosphere is cool and relaxing and it was great seeing some old faces! Thanks Geri, for providing a place that proves to live up to the ideal and standard of what a spa/salon should be (most others are lacking.) I'm going back in two weeks for a scalp massage... I can't wait! I have been a client at Dean of Shadyside for 10 years. throughout that time, I have been with 4 different stylists, my favorite being Robbert. One day, unexeptedly, a friend i referred to him, called me and said he was no longer employed there. I called the salon and asked them to verify the claim. It was true. The stylist that I grew to care for was gone from my salon, unbeknownst to me. The salon claimed it was because I had not formed a relationship with him; clearly management was not present during my appointments. I found myself opening up to Robbert about my life and in turn, about his life, which is extremely interesting. I went to him 5 times in eight or so months, the most i've ever gone to a hair stylist in that amount of time. The receptionist then told me that I would be seen by another stylist who I would love. I get to my appointment, and that stylist called off sick. So now, there I was, on a third string stylist. I lost my original one, the second one bailed and I'm just motioned through like cattle. That was straw that broke the camels back. My hair was colored by one stylist and cut by Dean himself. I went to Dean for years and stopped because he gave me what I liked to call "soccer mom haircuts." I'm 25 and my hair looked plain old. The icing was I had to pay the inflated amount for the services because both stylists were level II and III. So for double to price, I was moderately content with my hair. I was told Robbert was gone and was not doing hair any longer. He wasn't happy there, neither was I. I made an appointment with him for next week and I'm excited to see how this salon is amd if this is the place that I am going to commit to for great hair. If Robbert is there, so am I. When I made the appointment, I was greeted with understanding about my predicament. My schedule was taken into consideration for the appointment time and the staff isn't nearly as snobbish as what Dean's sometimes came across to be. I am nervous about the appointment, but I trust Robbert and the salon definitely made the right choice by hiring him. Hopefully I'll be able to give this a 5 star review after Thursday! Pros: Friendly staff, Robbert, great products Cons: Not finding it sooner!
