Amazing Glaze is located in the popular City Market area of Raleigh. It’s Raleigh’s first paint-your-own pottery studio. They offer a wide variety of unpainted pottery for you to choose from. You buy the piece (priced by size/complexity – generally $5-30) and then you buy the studio time ($6 for adults, $4 for kids per hour). They give you all the paints and brushes and you just go to it. Then, a week later, after they’ve fired it, you come pick up your piece. It’s perfect for a personalized gift or to make something unique for yourself. You can also schedule parties there for adults or youths. It is nearby to lots of cool and funky shops and eateries so you can easily make this a whole day trip if you want. Parking can be difficult as it is all on-street with 1-2 hour limits during the day so be prepared to spend some time looking. A great time to go is during First Friday, held the first Friday of every month where all the shops and galleries in City Market are open til 9pm.
