My family always gets a "season pass" to the zoo every year because we go so much. It's not that it's the greatest zoo, but there is only so much to do around Houston, and this is the most cost effective. We try to stay away during the summer months when it's too hot outside and the animals aren't active and very sluggish. We are slightly disappointed that the rates will be going up, but it was expected. My children never get tired of going to the zoo since they are still young. We also like that the huge park is right nearby that they can swing and play in. The best time to go is in spring when the weather is great.
