I never found a mechanic as trusting as Scott and his team at the Hondaa King. If you have a Honda, I HIGHLY recommend your bring your car to the Hondaa king, for anything, even an oil change. He's prices are honest and fair and he explains every repair to you, so you understand what needs to be done. As a woman, I've been ripped off at other mechanic, but at the Hondaa King you are safe. 5 stars!!

The Allston Car Wash does a superb job of washing cars. There is a reason that they have a long line of cars on the first nice spring day after a long winter. They have a wide range of services from a simple car wash to completely detailing your car. You can watch your car be washed through the giant windows as it goes through the car wash. Your car is carefully dried off after the car wash by the contientous staff.

I had to get my car towed to this Herb Chambers BMW, which has a very convenient location. Unfortunately it took them a long time to diagnose my car's problem, and were even wrong the first time so that I had to come in unnecessarily. A few times they also promised to call me back with updates, and never did, so I had to call them instead. In their defense I think they were very busy at the time, but it was still pretty annoying.
When I did get my car back it worked perfectly again, but I had to wait there for an unduly long time at pick-up for them to bring my car and the other things I needed. Basically, they did their job well, but in their own time, which didn't match up very well with mine.

My BMW had been through a rough winter of potholes and needed a lot of under carriage work done along with other service needed. They fixed my car like new in less than two days. It was expensive - but these cars only work well with BMW parts. The service people were kind, understanding, gave me whatever break they could and when I picked it up, they had washed it spotless - like off the show room. I had been to other dealerships and private car shops - Herb Chambers had the best service. I personally would like to thank my rep. Mr. Marini for being so patient and helpful.

I have been to Boston VW @ Allston for quite some times. Their staffs are really friendly. They do things as promised very fast and honest. There was one time, I thought that I needed wheel alignment but I ended it up only pressure for my wheel and they charge me nothing for that.
I would say very good service. They also open till midnight.

I have been there twice for my VW jetta 2001 GLS. I had a broken parking break cable for the first time. Before going to Wooding's, I did a multi-point inspection at the VW dealer, however they asked for $450 to fix it. Then I went to two other garages. To my surprise, one said the problem was the brake rotor (asking for $350), the other said it was the caliper(asking for $750 !!). Then I came to woodings, they told me the parking break cable was broken, and asked for $200. I did the service and the car ran well.
For the second time my oil pan was stripped. I sent my car to speedy for oil change, but they said they couldn't do it and asked me to send the car to VW dealership. Then VW dealer told me the oil pan has to be replaced and asked for $600. I called Bill at woodings and he told me that they could replaced the oil pan for $400. But VW dealer told me that I couldn't drive the car because they couldn't put the oil pan back, they might have a temporary solution for it but it still cost $170. I insisted that they do not do anything to my car and asked AAA to tow my car from VW dealer to Woodings. However, after checking my car, Bill and Yau fixed it without replacing the whole oil pan. They only asked for $130 for it. And they were very patient to explain to me how they could fix the threads of the oil pan.
I recommend woodings to all my friends with VWs, and I believe it is the best choice for all VWers at Boston.

I just took my sister's car to Herb Chambers because the check engine light was on. They are super-professional and service-oriented. I didn't have to wait long at all at the drop off place and they diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly. They were in touch over the phone very often and almost always well organized. Plus, they didn't charge me anything!! The part was under warranty, but they didn't charge me any labor costs.
I will definately go back there anytime I need something repaired on my car that the dealer can do best.

My wife and I have been using Oriental Import Auto Service for over a decade. We do not take our vehicles anywhere else. The proof is in the pudding. I had a Honda Accord that the owner of the shop kept running till it got in an autoaccident at about 214,000 miles. We also had an older model Mitsubishi Mirage that went to an unheard of 160,000 miles. The shop utilizes manufacturer parts, replaces components that truly need replacement and works preventively with your vehicle. This means that problems are identified before you find yourself broken down or in an accident.
The attention to detail, finding the true cause of a problem versus replacing parts haphazardly, is one of the unique facets of this service. Both Michael and Nancy, the owners are incredibly personable and work directly with the customer to help understand the work that is being done. Additionally, they've taught me a great deal about work that was charged by dealers, yet not a solid job. On many occasions I was shown the bills from dealers and the lack of complete replacement of parts.
If you want your Oriental Automobile to be repaired to the highest quality and reliability or need a routine service, I would definetly start taking your vehicle to Oriental Auto. I am looking forward to passing 200,000 miles on our next two vehicles.

My experience with Allston Auto Works came after an accident that caused over $8,000 in damage.
The insurance company almost totalled out my car, but Allston Auto Works rebuilt the exterior and, frankly, gave it back to me in like-new condition. My car has functioned perfectly with no leftover rattles or squeaks.
The people are friendly and professional. Ask for T.K.
The shop is located just off Commonwealth Avenue in an alley behind Marty's Liquors.
