The Germantown Commissary is located in an old building that if you didn't know to look for it, you might miss it. It has been rated as one of Memphis' top BBQ restaurants. It offers BBQ Nachos, wet or dry ribs, BBQ sandwiches, deviled eggs, baked beans, slaw and my favorite, potato salad. The building is not very big and I don't think it can sit a lot of people, but there is always a line of people either waiting to be seated or to take out. You just walk in and order your take out and they fill your order while you wait. There is little or no waiting involved in take out. Be sure to reserve a piece of their wonderful home made pies when you sit down, if you wait they may be all gone! They have family packs that you can order and pick-up that will costs you less than picking up combo meals for your family at fast food places.
