My advice...if you KNOW you hair is curly and the stylist tells you ""she doesn't detect any curls,"" insist that it is. I ended up with a mess of a layered haircut that sticks out everywhere. It curls up in humidity. If I flat iron it, it's too thin because of all the layers that were supposed to ""create movement."" This will take a year of growth to correct.
