Too Many Errors 11/7/2013

Price changed by over $200 upon questioning if it was correct the first time. Service rep called back to correct it. New tires were supposed to be installed on the front, but were installed on the back, which left poorest treads on front. Discovered this huge error after leaving the shop so had to go back which blew the second half of the day. The positive note is my steering wheel locked badly after shutting car off & could not restart the car. Burien Honda sent a person for a rescue which was much appreciated, then I drove the car back to the shop where the tires were rotated to where they should have been done in the first place. We have had several years good service at your location, but this experience was a bad mistake. We told service staff up front that the car was going on a 5,000 mile road trip & would be fully loaded, so we wanted things checked. The worst tire was placed front left, with tread gone on edge of tire which could have been a catastrophic blowout. We were also advised, after further inquiry about the status of the bad tire (a run flat tire) that it was not recommended to replace it. (Would you be comfortable with this tire on a long trip fully loaded?) We will give Burien Honda one more service opportunity & hope this recent experience is an anomaly. We also noticed an all new staff at the front service counter. Courteous. But when I asked for confirmation that the new tires were put on the front, I was told "yes". This was incorrect. This issue of putting wrong tires on the front of a front wheel drive vehicle is inexcusable & dangerous. Our confidence is damaged from this experience. The best staff was the guy who came for the rescue to unlock the steering wheel. He got it right & was very positive & helpful. more
