Greece in North Carolina 8/1/2011

I have always wanted to go to Greece; experience the land and envelope myself in the countries music, art, and heritage. I am not sure when the opportunity will come for me to travel, but at Apollo's Flame Bistro I felt as though I had the chance to at least taste Greek cuisine.\r \r A night out with friends turned out to be quite an eye-opening experience. I ordered the Combo Gyro Platter (A combination of chicken and lamb, grilled pita, tzatziki sauce, and a Greek salad) for $8.79. The chicken and lamb was cooked to a tender point and the seasonings tasted wonderful. The lamb went well with the tzatziki sauce (a type of sour cream with cucumber pieces). The Bistro is a family owned business and I was impressed with their home-made dressings for the salad. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great! A beautiful waterfall is in the back of the restaurant, while grape vines drape gracefully from the ceiling, and lovely pictures of Greek mythology hang from the wall. I suggest that anyone who wants a taste of Greek cuisine in Asheville, NC should check out the Apollo Flame Bistro. more
