San Rocco is a fantastic restaurant with fantastic people - all authentic italians mostly from Calabria-- excellent food and wine and a great ""club like"" vibe and modern decor. You feel like you have stepped off the street in Rome or Milan from the minute they personally open to door for you and greets you in Italian. The food is excellent with a very good selection of pastas, meats and fish. It's 25-24-25 ($36) Zagats rating is spot on. I had the fillet mignon and the lamb chops, both of which were extremely tender and flavorful. The sommelier prepared and served our wine and wine glasses in the most professional way I've ever encountered and I've been to all of the top rated NY restaurants. They are preparing for sidewalk seating come the summer which will be an added plus. Suffice it to say, everyone at this restaurant goes out of their way to make sure you are ""molto contento"".
I've been back 3 times now and it has fast become my ""go to"" restaurant.
