Typical by-the-book Tacky North End restaurant 11/10/2008

I have lived in the North End for 5 years and decided to try Limoncello on Saturday night after hearing how great the food was. My husband and I had an 8pm reservation but after arriving on time, were ushered to the back of the restaurant to a cramped makeshift bar/coat room area and told to wait. We glanced around the room to see about 6 other couples who had obv. been waiting a lot longer then us, all with P'd off expressions on their faces. After about 20mins the manager tried to make nice with complimentary cheap glasses of chianti but the goodwill gestures died down around the 40min mark. I decided to check out where we would be potentially sitting and spotted the 2-tops squished among larger tables of 8 all on top of one another. How romantic! It became clear the greedy manager had overbooked and wanted to pack as many people in there as possible. The combination of being treated like cattle with the garish murals on the wall more suited to Olive Garden was the final push we needed to get up and leave! Pros: Carmen is next door more
