What is happening to customer service? 2/6/2007

I have been using First Hand Car Wash, occasionally, for many years now and there has always been a problem with the details on their cheapest wash, but hey it?s cheap. I went in today and paid more thinking that it my car might be cleaner. After waiting 40 min. for my car, and seeing the BMW that got there at the same time done 15 min early, I was very upset by the fact that my car was still dirty. At first I was told, by the owner, that my car was not ready yet (even though the detailer had waved the towel and everyone was working on the cars that were washed after mine.) After the owner double checked the fact that my car was finished, he told me that my car was clean, despite my handful of black dirt from the bumper, and that all the cars are hand washed and it takes time and they aren't perfect. (I'm sorry I thought that if I pay $20 to have my car washed by a person it should be clean.) I was given one lame excuse after another, told that they were not going to refund my money nor do anything about it; except, very condescendingly, tell me ""I'm sorry you feel that way."" Adding fuel to the fire, this comment alone is the sign of someone who has not one idea of what customer service is or how to provide it. If you find yourself in need of a carwash in this part of town try the Exxon at McNeil and Parmer, it is cheaper, more time efficient, and just as good (if not better.) Pros: NONE! Cons: Corky, ""the owner"" more
