I LOVE Nifty Fifties. It's inexpensive, has the best milkshake selection I've ever seen and is one of the few places that I can take my 4 month old daughter without fear that she'll disturb the other diners.
Pros: cheap, great milkshakes, family friendly
Cons: small - there's usually a wait
