Pembroke Mall

This is probably the worst mall in the Hampton Roads area, or close to it. This mall is very dirty and small with barely any good stores besides Sears and Kohls. I always dread going to this mall due to the terribly designed parking lot. They due have a small movie theatre in the mall and they have just added a new food court but I have not been in to try it out. more

Pembroke mall was halfway decent about 12 years ago, but they have done nothing to make their mall more appealing. They have a Kelly's Tavern which makes it more appealing and a Legends that Lynnhaven doesn't have, but aside from that the stores it does have you can find at Lynnhaven or MacArthur, while also being at a better kept mall. more

With the creation of the new Town Center, the city of Virginia Beach has been pumping money into the Pembroke area, including the mall, like crazy. While I recognize their efforts, they will never be able to make this mall anywhere near as good as Lynnhaven, Macarthur, or Greenbrier. If you’re looking for a good place to spend an afternoon shopping, this isn’t it. The stores still aren’t up to par, and the carpet is hideous. more

Pembroke Mall as a whole is a little disappointing. The selection of stores leaves something to be desired. It is not overly clean. I have been there and eaten there several times...the only decent place in there though is Kelly's Tavern which is more of a bar than a restaurant, and I haven't been impressed with the service I've received there either. The food court as a whole is just lacking in comparison to some of the other malls. The only reason I go there is because it is nearby, and if I need to grab some tools or something from sears I'll get a bite to eat because it is right there. more

Pembroke Mall has almost none of the usual mall chain stores; however, there's still plenty of shopping to be done there. The food court is a bit lacking, although the pizza and tacos are both excellent. The entire mall is carpeted, which makes those long hours of shopping easier on your legs and back. The building is immaculately maintained and most of the mall staff is friendly. There are some unusual shops in Pembroke, including the Crab Shack where they sell hermit crabs and hermit crab accessories, and a teddy bear making store. However, beware of the fake purse kiosk in the middle of the mall - I guarantee you that those are not authentic Louis Vuitton purses you're getting for $30 a piece! If you're looking for the usual mall stores, Pembroke is probably not the place for you. However, if you're interested in African, British or Chinese imports, small tropical pets and local cuisine, Pembroke would probably be a nice mall to visit. more
