Uh, it costs THAT much 4/13/2006

I went to the location in Clayton, that should of told me something. Okay, the sushi is okay, but the prices are NOT. $12 for 3 vegetarian rolls for lunch is just plain ridiculous. Now, after living in California for 6 years in a neighbourhood where there is steep competition for Japanese food (and working for a Japanese company), I guess I'm spoiled. I don't really want to pay $4.00 per set of vegetable rolls. I used to pay $1.50- $2.00. Yes, I'm in the midwest, but there are cheaper (and honestly tastier options) like I love mr. sushi. But it wasn't bad, just expensive, so I can't give it less than 2 stars to be fair. more

Delicious 9/15/2005

I visited Wasabi for my birthday a few months back and was more than impressed. It's a small space, but creatively decorated, especially the mural in back. It was crowded on a Friday night, but we only had to wait about 20 minutes for seats at the sushi bar. The prices are a little high, but the portions are very large for a Japanese restaurant. For two people we ordered at Beef Teriyaki bento and a Sushi moriwase A, and had enough left overs for another meal. All of the food was very high quality and delicious. The beef was very tender cubes instead of the usual chewy strips, and the uni was sweet and fresh. I loved this place and can't wait to go back. more

Loft district hotspot 8/17/2005

One of the hippest sushi places in town catering to the growing downtown loft district. All the waitresses and hostesses are cute and professional. The food is excellent and the renown chef's signature dishes are even more so. Try them out for lunch. They do tend to charge slightly more maybe because of the location. And don't forget the outrageous tax charged at downtown establishment. more
