Awesome Indie Record Store 3/6/2011

I really like this place. They had a lot of hard to find CDs & Vinyl. They have a nice selection of NEW vinyl and it was cheaper than Amazon. I was suprised to find some of the bands in here that I NEVER see at other stores, plus I love to support independant record stores. Just when you think they are all going away, you find a COOL place like Dave's! BTW: I was around for a couple of days and asked about a Tom Waits record that they didn't have in stock. It was a Wednesday and they had it for me by Friday before I left! The guy working at the counter was like the dude from High Fidelity, he knew about everything I asked for. Unlike FYE or Best Buy where they don't have a clue! more

Dave's Music Mine 3/21/2006

This place is great to buy CDs if you want hard to find music. They are open late and have a wide range of music that you wouldn’t find at an FYE or borders. They also buy back old cd’s if they are in good shape. I have purchased old cassettes (The Jerky Boys) and cd’s that I thought no one would carry but they have always had it in stock. This is also by far a great place to hear local bands and see when/where they are playing. more

Good Selection, Average Prices 11/13/2005

Good selection of vinyl, CDs, and tapes. I like the setup for the genres, etc. It's in the southside so it's very convenient... and it tends to be open fairly late (midnight) so you can hit it up after work. They occasionally will buy back your old CDs or records if they're in good shape and not in inventory already. Good prices given for good material. more

dave's music mine 8/21/2005

Dave's on the south side is a cool music store featuring a good collection of new & used cds. Their strong suit is probably rock & alternative cds but they do stock most popular music. Their classical and jazz sections are definitely lacking (even compare to The Exchange). They also have a selection of used musical instruments and equipment upstairs. They tend to be open late (close between 9pm-12am?) which is pretty nice. more
