I just went into a local Amsouth bank about an hour ago and was treated like a complete criminal. My friend and I sell stuff on Ebay and I sold a rather large item that went for a sizeable amount of money (3000.00) well, my friend and I split the money. We use Paypal as a form of collection of payment from the customer through Ebay. If I had transferred the $1500.00 to my friend's Paypal account, it would have charged almost $100.00 in usage fees just for using Paypal OR for $1.50, I could have a check cut for the amount that I needed to pay my friend. I opted for the check to be cut. I gave the check to my friend to just deposit into their bank account (I endorsed the back) Amsouth would not deposit without me being there. I went with my friend at lunch and the lady that waited on us stared at me and my id many times and then conferred in whispers to every one of the tellers in the bank about the check. I let her know that my children all (4 kids) have accounts at Amsouth and that my name is on them as well. They said that I needed to have a checking account and that it didn't count because the kids needed checking accounts. THEN...after her treating me like I was passing a worthless check and feeling like a criminal....she asked me if I would be interested in opening an account with Amsouth !!!! Like I would even consider it at that point. Another lady was totally rude to my friends child who is 5 and asked what was in all of those drawers (in the vault) she told us that he was nosy and that it was none of his business. OK....like a 5 year old should not be nosey?? How do you think children learn?? they ask questions !!!!! I felt that all 6 of these employees on duty an hour ago at this bank were totally out of line and made me feel worthless and much like a criminal. NOT recommended by me !!! I wish that I didnt have to even click on a star they were that bad. Please actually consider this rating from me a MINUS 5 STARS !!!! Hide
