I have recently moved to the area and in the process of searching for a new church home. My family has visited this church several times over the past couple months and feel very welcome, do not feel overwhelmed with information. When you enter the church for a sermon, you are welcomed and told what to expect and introduced to a few people so that you don't feel like a "new person".
We are most likely going to become members at this location in the near future.
The service is casual (come dressed casually), the topic is in everyday language, sermons and music relate to every day living in 2007.

There is a new local website in Pelham, Alabama. I am one of the contributing editors on this website thanks to some of my writings here on Judy's Book.
Iveta started the website and owns it, Iveta has started a great source of information for our little town.
We launched the website on September 1 and today is the 22'nd and we have 59 members already.
We are trying to make a local website that all members of our town can come to for referrals to business, sales in town, garage/yard sales, forums, weather, local high school info, events in town and much more.
Come check out our town's new site.

I am known as Dixie4u on the site.

I am a member of another local United Methodist Church but since moving to another town nearby, I wanted to visit somewhere closer. I went to church at Lakeview Pelham's First United Methodist Church this past Sunday. I was greeted at the door by a nice lady and then shown to the welcome center where I already knew the two ladys at this area. I then enjoyed a great service and was touched by the ministers words. I needed to find a new church home and I think I have done just that.

This place is great. The staff is great and they are very loving. They treat your child as if they were their own. The building on the outside is not much to look at, but the rooms that the kids are in are nice and spacious. They have lots of toys and things for the kids to do. They are cheaper than most of the other daycares around and it is a church environment. Also, if you put your child in full time it is $125/week, but if you get off work or have a family member who wants to keep your child for three days and your child only goes one or two days at the daycare, you only pay $85. They really want you to spend time with your kids and don't want to penalize you if you do. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

WHY MUST IT BE SO DIFFICULT TO MAIL SOMTHING????
I am speaking from my experience and have talked to others in town and found that those that I talk to have similar experiences with this post office.
I sell stuff on Ebay and have done so since 1997 so I mail alot of stuff (average 50 -100 packages per month)
I mailed a little priority box last week and apparantly one of the two postage stamps that were put on the box by a different post office came off during transit. The package was marked with a rubber stamp AND a post-it note with the same stamp that said "Returned for more postage" and "take this package to the post office and just add more postage"
The package cost $4.80 total shipping, there was a $4.00 stamp on the box and apparantly the one for .80 fell off during transit because it was a sticker type stamp. I should have only paid .80 for additional postage and the lady made me pay $4.80 all over again.
We got into a small arguement over this.....
Found out from another post office that this lady was totally wrong. There are only 3 people that ever work at the window at this place and they are the Gustapo's of mail. I usually go out of my way about 7 miles past this post office to a different location that works by the USPS rules.
I order the free mail supplies that you can order from www.usps.com that us Ebayers use to ship with and my home delivery person WILL NOT and refuses to deliver them to me because she would have to get out of her truck to leave the supplies.
Also our home carrier has broken the mailboxes of everyone in our subdivision....she breaks off the two metal clamp things that hold the mailbox closed..
I have called the post office and the main USPS headquarters to complain about this 7 times and nothing is done....
HOW HARD IS IT TO GET SOME MAIL AND TO SEND SOME???
If you have to mail something....do not go to Pelham Post office !!!!
