iF IT ISN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT! 3/9/2013

Read our review guidelines I had no problems with my mouth at all. They recommended, and insurance had approved, putting a crown on my last molar. This way if it cracked down the road I wouldn't have to have a root canal. During the procedure, she found the next tooth had a crack and asked if I wanted that drilled out and a new filling put in. I said yes, I am already numb. Well, while waiting for my crown I had pain in my tooth with the filling. I went in and they said I needed a root canal. Numbed me up a 2nd time (week 2) and the doctor couldn't decide which tooth needed the root canal! Instead he filed off the filling they just put in incase that was where I got the pain from. Well, it changed my whole bite! Not to mention did nothing for the pain. Went back the next week (Week 3) to Dr. Yazdi to complain about the pain with my bite change. She said she would make me a mouth guard! I didn't need a mouth guard 3 wks ago. She numbed me up again to put in my crown and said she would make an appointment for the Endodontistt to find out which tooth needed the root canal. Then I told her my bite was still bad and she filed down more teeth. Well now it is worse. I decided I was not going back there. Instead of it getting better each time it was worse. I decided to go back to my childhood dentist in Bloomingdale. When I told him of my awful experience his response was. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"! He said dentists now don't work that way. I I had NO pain and no problems in my mouth before all this. He sent me to an Endodontist (in Bloomingdale) On 12/21/13 (Week 4) I had the root canal. It has been 2 1/2 months and I still have pain in my jaw and can't bite on my right side. Not to mention my bite is still off. My old dentist adjusted it a little but said you should go very slow with adjustments. My ligament is damaged because of injections 4 weeks in a row. It can take up to 18 mos. to heal. If it doesn't, I have to have the tooth removed! They didn't care about me, just the insurance money. more

Overcharging 11/11/2009

On 10/06/2009 I went to Wheatland Dental office to have my teeth cleaning. Because this year I have a limited dental insurance coverage, I specifically asked my hygienist, Natalie, to perform a regular cleaning ONLY. I also specified the procedure code D1110. Natalie said OK and did the cleaning. I need to stress that I'm going to this office for more than 5 years and Natalie have a very gentle and nice hands. She is great hygienist. My problem is with the billing office of that clinic and specifically OVERCHARGING me. To my surprise, they billed my insurance for more expensive procedure D4910 (Periodontic Maintenance) and the coverage was denied by the insurance company (as I expected). I stopped in the clinic on 10/16/09 and talked to someone from the billing department and I was promised they will sort out quickly this problem. Two weeks later, no response, no amendment claim to my insurance. On 10/30 I went again to Wheatland Dental and spoke with Sue from billing department. She was not very cooperative and she told me that since I has some periodontic problems, they can charge the insurance company the different code for a practically same procedure. She promised to take a look at my files and to call me within one day. One week later I called Sue, and she promised again to reply within one day. No reply as of today. more

They call him Dr.G! Top braces system 6/2/2009

Their orthodontic system is GREAT and painless! My 11 year old daughter was afraid on how she would look around her friends...the braces were smaller and NO jucky- bulky- look! The results was seen right away- She's thankful of the new image which has change her to a positive girl. Thanks Dr.G and his team! more

Good dentist, not so good office staff. 12/3/2005

The office is relatively new and what I wold consider up to date. Each chair has it's own TV. The equipment is in working order. The decor is nice. My questions are always answered. I had three fillings replaced and it was the least painful procedure I have ever had in a dental office. The wait in the waiting room used to be relatively short, but the office seems to be getting busier. They cut down on their week-end and night hours (which is why we chose them in the first place) and the area they are located in is hard to get in and out of with all the traffic. I was recently left in the waiting room and none of the staff bothered to tell me the appointment had been canceled, and there have been some billing issues between the office and my insurance. Otherwise, the rating would have been higher. more

Excellent dental care 11/25/2005

Wheatland Dental Care offers outstanding dental service to its clients. The building is newer and maintains a warm, inviting, non-threatening atmosphere. The waiting room is equipped with two flat-screeened televisions---one in the children's area, one in the "adults" area. There's also several toys for the children to play with. Each dental room also contains a flat screen tv at the end of each dental chair. They also contain a computer which holds dental records, x-rays, and dental appointment times. The dentists take the time to actually sit down with you and explain what they're doing and why. In addition, they're more than willing to listen to any questions/concerns you may have. They're also highly -qualified individuals. All staff members I've encountered have been courteous, professional and pleasant. I'd highly recommend this office for any dental need (from routine cleaning to cosmetic dentistry). more

Wheatland Dental Care 10/6/2005

This new building is nicely landscaped and maintained. The interior is roomy and the waiting area spacious with TV's for viewing while you await your appointment. The staff is friendly and professional. They also have and orthodontist and periodontist at their location on select days. The equipment is new and in good shape. Sometimes the wait is quite long, sometimes short. more
