I am an avid recreational rider from Houston and the following are my thoughts on the bike department at at the Katy Mills store.
PROS: Excellent, knowledgeable and nonthreatening customer service from the bike department every time i go into the store. The three young bike guys in the bikeshop perform excellent work and do not over charge on labor costs. In my opinion this is one of the best bike shops around for quality of workmanship and getting my bike back in a short period of time. If you need your bike worked on prior ro the MS-150 i highly recommend the bike shop at katy mills to get it done.
CONS: They need a better selection of high dollar merchandise (wheelsets $1000+, pedals $200+, complete group sets etc). Do not stock many Campy components without having to be ordered.
Pros: excellent custmer service

Mary Jo Peckham Park (closes at dusk)is located in the City of Katy: 77493. 1 block NE of the intersection of Franz Road And Avenue D (Behind the City of Katy Police Station).
Mary Jo Peckham Park is an (Approx 15 yr old) beautiful, forested approx city/county park with walking trails around a man-made lake which is stocked with fish. Children are allowed to catch and release the fish. There is a large covered group picnic ground and individual tables w/ grills near a beautiful play area under the trees which is for ALL CHILDREN (handicap accessible).
Behind the picnic/play area is a miniature golf course. You can check out miniature gulf clubs, score cards and balls when the Peckham Park Pool/Weight Lifting Area/ Dancing/Recreation Building is open.(You can bring your own and use the facilities anytime the park is open.We purchased our toddler equipment used for a few dollars from Katy Christian Ministries Thrift Shop so we could visit, holidays, evenings and Sundays).
City of Katy/Harris County residents can sign up for free recreational swimming classes such as: arthritis exercise and water aerobics, dance classes, etc. Swim Lesson are offered through the Red Cross for a fee.
Fort Bend residents can also sign up for classes if they are not filled by Harris county residents. ASK ANY QUESTIONS and/for a monthly schedule ask at the front desk. The Park has 1 main entrance in and is protected by on duty Harris County Constables. The gates are locked at dusk.
Katy Library (Branch of Harris Co Public Library System w/ Maude Marks, etc) is located on Franz road to the east of the Katy Police Station and has free events including activities, plays, authors, reading time, etc for children.
OTHER FUN ACTIVITIVITIES IN KATY/HOUSTON: see the newspaper insert 101 FREE FUN THINGS TO DO IN HOUSTON/KATY: may be available from reference librarian at your local library.
FYI: My 82 yr old Father thinks Peckham Park offers fitness evaluations and facilities that are better than many fitness clubs for free. He has moved to Katy to be close to the Peckham Park facilities which he uses daily.
We have lived in Katy (since 1984) 1/2 mile from Peckham Park since its inception as a Steve Radick Harris County Park in conjunction w/ the CIty of Katy. My kids now teenagers have spent many hours, enjoying the FREE facilities, having and attending birthday parties there. Paddle wheel boats have been promised but are not available yet. ENJOY!

Circle Lake Ranch has been a wonderful experience for my daughter. She has been taking western style riding lessons there since she was 11 (she's now 17) and has developed a skill in horsemanship and equine care through Layne's vigilant tutelage. In addition this experience has produced character development in her that I see to be a lifelong benefit, namely confidence, responsibility, and safety awareness. Layne has introduced her to a world that is culturally Texas and has inspired in my daughter a passion for the sport . As she progressed in skill, Layne provided opportunities for competition at local, regional and national levels. Additional training in specific skilled areas has also been a plus. Layne encouraged my daughter to progress at her own rate, emphasizing areas of development and competition that interested my daughter.
Our summer camps were delightful experiences allowing her to spend an entire week being exposed to more areas of horses and horsemanship than is possible in a once-a-week lesson. Camp was a week filled with horses, friends, fun and learning.
Layne is, foremost, safety minded which is comforting to me. She can relate well to her students, and her staff are highly competent. I would recommend Circle Lake Ranch to anyone wanting to train in riding, adult or child. Our experience has been rewarding, positive, and educational.

This Little Gym location recently opened on Highland Knolls near the Grand Parkway. It is a new, clean facility located in a small shopping center. It is owned by the same people who run the location on Memorial near Dairy Ashford.
My 4 year old daughter recently tried a gymnastics class there and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have to say it was the biggest smile I have seen on her in quite a while. The class is labeled as "gymnastics," but I would describe it more as music and movement than a serious gymnastics class. A previous reviewer commented on this as well. I think it is perfect for the toddler and preschool age group when you are really just trying to give them something fun to do in a group setting. They offer classes for older kids, but I can't imagine these would be very challenging for them. I will be happy if my daughter learns balance from walking on the balance beam, coordination and strength from the bars and jumping, and maybe how to perfect her forward roll! And the best result from these classes will just be more confidence and a good time.
The class is taught by 1-2 enthusiastic young ladies, and it starts with some "circle" time to describe the day's class and move to some music. The class is then broken up into groups to go to stations for practice on the equipment. The teacher works with the kids on the equipment, and then they are supposed to try other moves after their turn. My only complaint is that my daughter didn't know how to do these other things yet, so she was kind of standing around when it wasn't her turn.
We ended up signing her up for a few of their summer "camp" activities. This is a 3 hour block of time with a theme, such as space, cheerleading, or safari. It includes gymnastics, a craft, a snack, and free play time. If she enjoys these, we might sign up for their new "Dance the Little Gym Way" class that starts in August. It includes dance and gymnastics for preschoolers.

I went here and used one of their coupons in an ad I saw. The store was very clean and I felt very comfortable there. I was able to get in and out quickly without any waiting and this is important to me. The beds seems very well takend care of. The emplyees there seemed very young and were not sure how to work the computer but I am assuming that with practice that would get better. I would go back and tan there in a heart beat. The prices seemed very reasonable.I was just tanning for an event I had coming up and they were very accomidating!

As soccer season approaches, you know the drill. Running all over town to get shin guards, socks, cleats, balls, etc. Save yourself some time and go to soccer depot. they have everything right there in one place! yea! Good prices. Good selection. Stocked well. The staff is friendly and helpful. If they don't have what you need, they can get it for you.
