Dear Shell:
I would like to express my experience with the Irvine Shell on Trabuco Road. I have been using this station for many many years. I can always depend on Aldolfo and his crew of trained mechanics. They always keep me safe and on the road. Adolfo always takes the time to explain what is necessary, which I really appreciate. Also they are AAA approved which I follow due to I am an AAA employee for many years and I love the AAA discount. I could go on and on with some of the other services they provide, such as they are open 24 hours so if I break down I only need one tow and my car will be looked at as soon as the garage opens or I may only need a screw on my license plate. Anyway i just want to say Thank You for being there for me.

I've taken my car to different car wash places, but I always end up going back to Alfie's. I think they do a really good job. You can watch the workers scrub clean your car from this window. I feel kinda bad for them sometimes. They are being watched by the customers. I've seen customers knocking on the windows rudely when they miss a spot.
They dry and clean the interior of your car while you wait in either their indoor waiting room or outdoor seating area.
In general, I think they do a good job.

Prices for Shell gas station around the area seems to be a bit higher than other gas stations. They do have a convenience store within the premises but I never buy anything there since the prices are sky high compared to nearby grocery stores. I just gas up and go. Not much contact with the station personnel.
PROS: No lines
CONS: Indifferent

This place has a great repair shop. I felt like the workers really tried to take good care of my car, explain to me exactly what was going on, and fix it as efficiently as possible. Instead of ordering entirely new parts for some of the work they did (which they would have been able to charge me more for) they were able to repair some of it because they knew all of the inner workings of each part, not just how they fit together. They saved me money and I felt well taken care of. Rare to find that in an auto mechanic shop.

I prefer Shell gas compared to other brands. This station is the closest to my place and the prices are competitively priced for the area. Its sometimes a bit higher though. It does provide an automatic car wash service.

They told my mom she needed $240 of parts and 8 hours of labor to fix her car. They elaborated that "since their mechanic is so good, it might only take 6 hours." I looked at my mom's car and was able to fix it in 30 minutes with $3 of parts. All she needed was a 5/16" e-clip and an 8mm washer. THEY LIED TO HER FACE AND TRIED TO RIP HER OFF. DON'T GO HERE!! They will try to scam you; especially if you're a woman, they will definitely try to rip you off.
Pros: Great if you like being ripped off
Cons: They will lie to your face and try to scam you

This station has upset most of the former customers. The credit card readers are always out of order. You pull up, get out to pump, and realize the card reader is out. Not a big deal when it happens once or twice. But then you go in and deal with a rude owner/operator. You put your card up and say "Fill up on Pump #8" and he replies "Fill up not allowed. I must specify an exact amount". OK... but how would I know exactly how much I'll pump? End up having to sign for $65.00 and they'll "refund" the rest automatically after I am finished pumping (great... now I have to check/validate that later). This situation has been going on for months. There is another Chevron station 1 mile away on Portola with no lines, always clean and working credit card readers.
Pros: Location
Cons: Credit card readers always broken, no fill-ups allowed!

I used this station for 3 years without any issues. Then in the last year things have gotten so bad that I can't use this station now. The credit card readers are always broken, pumps don't work, and none of the pumps have OUT OF ORDER signs on them. The line inside is very long and very slow - because everybody is in there manually buying gas (like from the 80's). Single register open. Owner/operator is rudest guy you've ever met. They don't allow fill ups... so you have to specify an exact dollar amount when you pay manually. Customer are instead flocking to the 3 other Chevrons without a mile or two... Portola, Irvine Blvd. near 133, Culver, etc.
AVOID THIS STATION.
Pros: Convenient location. Chevron gas.
Cons: Pumps always out of order. Rude service. Long lines.
