Traders Village RV Park is beside the huge Traders Village Flea Market. The park is mostly for RVs but has some grassy areas for tents too. Many people camp there year-round, and others come and spend a few days. There's a pool and playground, full hookups, a beauty salon, laundromat, and store. Propane and fuel for cars are also available. There's an ATM at the flea market, and there are restrooms and showers at the park. The park is beside the Grand Prairie Airport and Bell Helicopter's test center so helicopters and small planes are frequently landing and taking off. I loved staying at this park; the staff members were all very friendly and it's in a good location. It's only a few miles from Six Flags, Ameriquest Field, Lone Star Park and the Parks at Arlington mall.

Traders Village Flea Market is huge! It has hundreds of vendors that sell everything from clothing to housewares to auto parts. You can find some pretty weird stuff there too. It's only open on Saturdays and Sundays so there are lots and lots of people there. It has a Latin flavor and lots of families gather there to meet friends each weekend. There are many food booths selling ethnic snacks and cool treats; it can get really hot in the summer. Many of the vendors' spots are covered; the more permanent shops are in storage-type buildings, and there are also huge covered pavilions and uncovered areas on a big parking lot. This is a good place to have a garage sale, and it's a good place to shop for just about anything. Some shops sell new stuff and some sell used. There's frequent entertainment, such as the annual PowWow, and lots of special promotions.

They carry all sorts of popular brands at discounted prices. Shoes are on display, so it is the help-yourself kind of theory in here. No pressure buying! A lot of times they have deals where you buy one pair, and can get the second pair at 1/2 off. It's a great deal, and really saves money! They carry shoes for kids to adult (both men and women), and they have dress shoes to athletic.

The Shoe Department has a large selection to choose from. You can find shoes in sizes for infants all the way up to Adult sizes for women and men. They even carry those hard to find wide sizes for children. They have some great prices, and when they have sales, they really have sales. They have a nice selection of after 5 shoes and matching handbags as well. If you're looking for shoes, definitely stop by.

I am pretty hard to please and quite irritating to shop-owners sometimes, as I always have a coupon or some package deal that I know about. I have never had difficulty with the cashiers and am always happy when I walk out with my purchase. There's always some little sale going on and coupons are honored politely and without question.
PROS: Good service, good selection
CONS: Blind location. I did not even know the shop was there for 3 years.

I like to take my dogs out to the PetSmart in Grand Prairie. Why? Why would I take my dogs out to Grand Prairie when I obviously live in Arlington and we have a PetSmart here?
Well, mostly because the PetSmart in Grand Prairie is larger and cleaner than the one in Arlington. The second reason is that they LOVE my dogs!
Most of the time I can only take two at a time. When Tony and Jude get to go, they are little pee demons, and I am following them around with a bottle of cleaner and a 'please clean up after your dog' bag. BUT, the fun part is how people react to these two giants!
Tony especially is so tender, especially toward kids. Once there was a couple in the PetSmart looking for a cat for their teenaged daughter. The daughter had cerebral palsy and was in a wheelchair. She really, really wanted a dog, but the parents didn't feel that a dog would be gentle with their daughter. When she saw Tony, she literally squealed with delight! And Tony was just as drawn to her. He went over to her, kissed her face and laid his head in her arms so she could love on him.
Tony stayed with her for a good ten minutes or so, while Carl and I talked with the couple. They were very nervous about getting a dog, but after seeing how good Tony was with their daughter, they said they might give it a try. We, of course, told them to adopt from one of the zillions of pet adoption agencies around, and to please give us a call if they needed any help.
The people at this PetSmart also remember my dogs by name. I don't think there must be a high turnover rate there. When Tony enters the PetSmart, he gives a big howl to let people know he is there. He loves the PetSmart as much as we do!
