Linda Austin's Cakes & Gourmet

Good: The only part I did like was the decorations on the cake.. Bad: Everything else....this includes icing (waaay too sweet), it was half chocolate (which was dry) and half white cake (which seemed as if it was soaked with water).. Improvements: It should taste as delicious as the samples that are set out. The cake did not taste good at all and we were very embarrassed to have it at the party. I am a former pastry chef and have never tasted a worse cake. To be honest I would have rather have gotten a cake at the local grocery store. It was not worth the high price they charge at Linda Austins.. Other: They need to take more pride in the products they send out. We were very dissappointed in the sheet cake as were the rest of the people at our party.. more

I think it's kind of funny that some people think her cake is so great. I know for a "fact", that she uses box cake mixes. I opened them myself. Her decorating is beautiful and unique. But her prices are also very expensive. JMHO more

This is truly, the best cake in town! The owner, Linda Austin, truly uses only the best ingredients ever and this does make a difference. I know you think, come on.. it's cake. I personally am not a big cake fan and find buying a cake something I hate to do for parties because there always seems to be tons of leftovers. In this case, once they taste it.. they will come back for 2nds!!! She offers great varieties, awesome flavors, and beautiful decorating techniques that only a true professional with talent can create. You tell her what you want and she can do it. The biggest pitfall is the price, but you do get what you pay for. When you normally buy a cake for $25 you could care less if there are leftovers and toss them in the garbage. With Linda's cakes you pray for leftovers to take home and they're gone within a day!!!! You will eat every bite of what you bought! I guarantee it!!!! She is absolutely is the best cake maker in town. Her talents are unsurpassed and the flavors are top notch! more
