I wouldn't suggest it 5/11/2014

I used to like this place until some ladies up front weren't so nice. It's too expensive there X-rays are $300 . My puppy has a leg problem they really didn't seem to care said she's fine and needs medicine . When she can hardly walk and whines.. The ladies told me I would get my money back after I saw the vet. Well my bill was $18 and I gave her $20. When I came back out she said no, this money stays in the computer for next visit. I needed that two dollars for other things. They either take your money because I had money on my account last time and there wasn't any. Not a very good place like I thought it was. Honestly. more

thanks for the care 4/7/2014

I have to give kudos to this facility. I was present when one of the previous grievances was was occurring and the people who wrote it were completely out of line. It's too bad that the facility gets gets a bad rapp for the people behaving so unprofessionally. They said they were not about the money, but they practically cornered the receptionist because they wanted money back for a service that was already performed. The facility tried to make it right and the people made a public scene and acted ridiculous in front of the whole waiting room. The people at this hospital work hard and do everything they can to make the pets well and the owners happy. They make normally expensive surgeries far more affordable and high priced pet care more accessible. Yet, when people want someone to blame for their negligence, they beat up the facility. Too bad I appreciate the time spent, and the heart that is always shown when I bring my animals there. Thanks to you guys and ignore the haters cuz we love you and know how great you are. Those people are looking to get something for nothing. We'll see you at our yearly check up!!! more

I had an awful experience. 3/21/2013

My experience was awful. I was told by Hamilton Ave that if I related my experience on City Search that they would not charge me for my pets stitches removal, but saving money is not why I am leaving this review. I chose Hamilton Ave. because my daughter goes there and had had good experiences, so I came in from a neighboring state because of those experiences, which, I want to stress, continue to be good. For my pets shots, they were super. For the spay and declaw surgery, not so much. For instance, when I picked up my pet, I had to sign a paper that said I realized my pet could die from the procedure. THAT was not encouraging. When I picked my pet up, the dried blood was not cleaned off of her hair on her legs, and she had bright red blood on one leg from new bleeding. When the lady in the white coat saw her condition as they brought my pet out to me, they took her back into the back and fixed the source of the new bleeding. But she was still not cleaned up. That was kind of hard to witness. The stitches were not tight. There was a gap in the incision. It was still mostly closed, but loosly. Each stitch, save for first and last, were loops that stuck out just over 1/8 inch away from her body. She's got some scar! I had to pay extra for her post op pain meds, and a cone for her, so she couldn't go after the stitches, (I declined the additional cost for antibiotics since I had some at home) and I kept her confined so she could not jump or climb. The post operative instruction sheet was unreadable (they had a printer issue), and I said so when they gave it to me. I was simply told to call if I had any problems, which was not encouraging considering the instructions were a full page long. I ended up calling a local vet that was recommended by my apartment manager and he saved my kitty with free suggestions, while Hamilton Avenue Animal Hospital just told me "she might have to come back in". No charge for stitches removal, as I removed them myself. It was easy, they were so loose! more

Rude and incompetant care 7/26/2008

This place gave my dog bad care. She went to be spayed and was given an unnecessary vaccination that may kill her. They were very rude and unprofessional as well as incompetent. more

Cheap but not good. Don't torture your pet! 4/7/2006

I took one of my cats to this clinic for an operation because it was considerably cheaper than any other veterinary clinics in the area. Unfortunately, my cat was in pain for weeks after the procedure and they hadn't even bothered to clean her up once they bandaged her. I will never use this clinic again. Their premises weren't very clean and sterile and there was hardly any parking. The staff were not very friendly either. more
