This store is great! They have a chocolate waterfall when you first walk in that is amazing. Half the store is just regular Alaskan souvenirs and the other half is the candy they make there. no matter what time you go in you can always see them making the candy and if you have a group you can schedule a tour of the candy making part and see up close how they make it They can also ship their candy anywhere in the world and make GREAT presents for people

This is a great place to go for that book you just have to have but don't want to pay full
price. We've also managed to find a few books here we could not find in any retail store.
This place has come a long way and respectably so. They also buy (for a very small fraction
of a cost) books you no longer want. If you're an avid book reader you can do a trade and
that will net you a small percentage more than a sale for your books. The downside of this is
that they seem to be extremely picky when 'buying' books, I expect to come out with at least
half the books I've brought to them.

A great consignment store for children's clothes. They've also got other things like cribs,
strollers, toys, and much much more! They've recently moved ... just a few store windows
down from where they used to be so they could upsize. This move was much needed as space
was limited in their old location. Don't expect too much from there trading or buying
aspects as they are very nitpicky on what they will buy or 'trade'. If you've still got
a kiddo around and/or plan on buying anything make sure you request a trade when you've
brought stuff in for them to buy as you'll net slightly more (in store credit) this way.

Anyone who has a chance to eat at the Marx Brothers and passes it up is missing a really special meal. The food is simply remarkable. This is a small intimate place in a rather small old house just off the inlet.
Try the Cesar Salad. It is a bit more "in-your-face" than some. But I find it delicious. There are no entrées on menu that I have tried that were not superb. Depending on the season, the fish dishes can be outstanding. Of course, so is the lamb...and so is the veal.
While they have an array of tantalizing desserts, I prefer the cheese plate (notably blue) with a glass of port. Let them recommend the port.
And speaking of wines, I am sure that they have one of the best or possibly the best wine selection in Alaska. You are dealing with some folks that have a VERY good handle on quality wines.
In brief, this is one of those destination places.

They helped to assist me in ordering a gown through one of their companies they work with. I found a large selection of ball gowns for our event, but none in my size. They were really helpful in answering questions and making sure I had everything answered and assisted me when I wanted to try on gowns.

I have sent several arrangements both in and out of Alaska with Bagoy's as well as shopped all three of their locations and have always been impressed with the friendly, knowledgeable, service I've received by the staff. Their arrangements are all so gorgeous and their gift selections are fantastic, stopping into one of their stores is like a mini-vacation, I always feel better after I've been there.

i have never had a "fake" tan before. but, i was on my way to the Carribean and didn't want to look like the underside of a halibut! the Run to the Sun staff were informative and efficient. The process took about ten minutes and the results were incredible! i was able to step right out on the beach looking great! just remember to use lots of sunscreen, as this "tan" doesn't protect you from the sun.
i highly recommend Run to the Sun and am certain to be back there myself soon. this was the best fifty dollars i have spent in a long time!

Allen and Peterson is a unique store all to itself. The people out on the floor were very helpful and knowledgeable and gave their honest opinions. The quality of the goods is the best I've seen in town, I love this store! The appliances are off to one side and the cool gadgets on the other. There is a full kitchen upstairs where cooking lessons are given, I would love to take a class there. Anyone who has any desire to remodel a current kitchen or just get some cool kitchen related gadgets should go there, no other stops needed! Rock on Allen and Peterson, Rock on.
