After a BUNCH of recommendations to dine here during my busines trip, I thought it couldn't possibly lived up to my expectations. I was wrong. Great service even though they were packed on a Monday night. Great view of the water from the bar. The food was amazing. I had grilled salmon and it was cooked perfectly. I'm really glad I made it here before I had to go home. Pricey but worth it. They had happy hour specials and a fixed price meal special that made it pretty affordable. I would definitely return.
Cons: no parking nearby. Had to pay $5 to park in a nearby lot.

Glacier Brewhouse is listed under bars/pubs on this site, but in actuality - it is a restaurant that has a brewpub in it.
They make an incredible Thai Chicken pizza that rocks! Thin crust baked in a brick oven with a yummy peanut/thai sauce. It was tv cook Rachel Ray's favorite when she visited the Glacier Brewhouse! The pizzas are "personal size" and are intended for one person, although one (with a salad, chowder, or appetizer) would be perfect for two people. I prefer bringing home the leftovers! ;-)
The seafood chowder here is awesome and the fresh brews are fantastic. Love the homemade lemonade as well.
Very nice atmosphere~~
Pros: Delicious food, great staff, cozy atmosphere
Cons: You have to be lucky to find a great parking spot ;-)

I was recently in Anchorage with some buddies doing some Salmon fishing. The red were running slower than normal and after a days of nothing but Salmon, Salmon, Salmon all I wanted a steak.
We were recommended Sullivan's Steakhouse by our hotel, Sheraton, and we were not disappointed. Big Martinis, competent wine list and delicious STEAK.
The steaks were hand-cut, server told us, and prepared perfectly as ordered. Side dishes were hot and delicious. They have a house salad with blue cheese dressing that is divine. Emily, our server was attentive, energetic and very friendly. The bar was a great place to begin and end the evening and had a great live band on the evening we were there. Did I mention STEAK!! Perfect seasoning with just the right amount of color. A great evening, great service in a fun lively atmosphere. I will search out the other locations in the lower 48 and make a point to visit.

It's a great place to eat at, would recommend reservations though mainly on a weekend evening. WAit staff are great, the bar is great, the food is the best we have found so far in Anchorage as far as a nice restuarant. We have eaten there quite a few times and have been impressed every time. I look foward to another dinner out!

I love Thai Orchid! The place is small but like the other reviews said, it is so worth the wait. They are closed at various times of the year for a couple weeks at a time which is rough because you CRAVE their food. Try it! I am sure you will love it as much as my husband and I do. Good portions and prices. I suggest bringing a few friends and sharing so you can try many things.

Humpy's is by far one of the best seafood places in Anchorage. They have the best beer battered halibut Ive ever tasted. They also have one of the best beer selections Ive ever seen. The staff is always friendly too. They do get busy and since its a small place you do sometimes have to wait for tables but they are well worth the wait

I have had the best highlights here, some great facials, and if I ever get the nerve, I'm going to have my Brazilian was done here. Not this week though. I usually pay about half of what I do in the expensive salons and most of the time the work is even better.
Pros: Great service, low prices, fun students.
Cons: I eventually have to leave.

I recently ate at Club Paris and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food, by far my best meal in Anchorage. The price was incredible, the only downside to this restaurant was the dark and dingy appearance. Otherwise the food was great the service was excellent, for the price, I give Club Paris 5 stars!

The only dowside I see to Humpy's is the wait. It sometimes gets crowded and there's not always a place to sit. It's a great place to hangout and meet new people or take a group. I can't even say that standing is a bad thing. Bartenders are great and music is great too! You can go and get "lost" in the crowd or be right up front and "center stage".
Pros: Definitely need to try the Alaskan Amber!
Cons: Not really
