The death of a loved one or a traumatic loss can be one of the most difficult events of an individual,couple or family might experience. Understanding that the grief process is normal,and that no one needs to grieve alone,is one of the most important messages a person can learn. As a Fellow in Thanatology,Dr. Winokuer has helped thousands of people work through their grief and begin new lives without their loved ones. The Winokuer Center works with individuals (adults and adolescents) in one-to-one counseling relationships in order to help them improve the quality of their lives and enhance their personal growth. We help clarify situations,explore options,and create plans to empower people to take charge of their lives. The following are some of the issues that we address: Depression and Anxiety Grief and Bereavement Relationships Separation and Divorce Often times couples struggle with the issues that are a normal part of all relationships. The issues may range from poor c ommunications skills to sexual dysfunction. We can help couples examine these issues and learn the skills necessary to enhance the quality of their relationship.
