I am completely amazed that Tucci's is Salt Lake's favorite Italian restaurant. The food and service is average. The coffee I had after dinner was certainly below average. I ...

What a great place! I had dish called ""L`agnello ala Tucci""( Papa Tucci recomendation), tender New Zeland lamb chops, grilled and served with a oyster mushrooms risotto....it was to die for!!! Service, ambiance and whole experience was top notch! For dessert ask for semifreddo, Italian vanilla ice cream, finished with a shot of Lavazza espresso coffee....mama mia!!! Europe is not so far away if you have Tucci`s so close!!!\r more

Tucci’s one of the oldest Italian restaurants in in Utah but also the most authentic you can get compare to chain restaurants. I'm proud we still have Tucci’s around, that indicates the customer loyalty also the consistency they provide! I love Tucci’s\r more

We were there on a Christmas day, and I thought food was amazing. Service was excellent, and owners were friendly. The best Italian food in Utah. I would definitively recommend this place. more

My wife and I went to Tucci's this past week and we were not disappointed. The food was made to perfection, and we both enjoyed our dishes. The owner even came out and asked how our meal was-a nice touch to a superb meal. He is an extremely nice man and because of the food and ownership we will be back. more

Used to love this place. No wonder they don't have as many locations as they used to! We had reservations and instead of walking us to our table they pointed to it! We ordered drinks while waiting for the rest of our group to arrive. Thought we would see a bread basket but no such luck. Not until we had ordered was the bread basket presented. Once the tiny little portions were gone, no offer to refill them. more

Disgusting and Spoiled Food 4/14/2012

The Ahi Tuna was literally ROTTEN. The smell of the tuna was so bad that it made us both gag. The exterior of the tuna was seared (as it should be), but the interior was brown and far from a fresh looking appearance. Had the Tuna been left out at room temperature for several days and then seared? It had the smell, appearance, and taste (regretfully !!!) of food that was left at room temperature for several days. The veggies in the same dish also had a funk about them. The Pollo Olio I ordered was barely palatable. This dish is supposed to be angel hair pasta, but it was so overcooked the pasta was as swollen as regular spaghetti (and slimy as well). To top things off, the hostess and waitress were rude. It is obvious to me why a seemingly nice restaurant actually has very few people dining there during peak hours. I will never return. I would suggest to stay clear from this place unless you welcome food poisoning. more

New Owners and Management 6/16/2011

I noticed that most of the these reviews, bad and good were quite a long time ago and before it was sold to the current owners. Tucci's was purchase by three former employees/managers. They are the heart of this lovely place and always make you feel like you are in their home. The food, which I always thought was good, is now great. They have very interesting daily specials as well as their standard menu. My kids never like marinara on their pasta, always on the side, and when we go to Tucci's they don't even ask for it that way. They love it ! I love the variety of hearty salads they have as well as soups. There really is something for everyone and service is always with a smile. If you have never been, or haven't been in awhile I recommend you go. Parking maybe a little bit of a hassle but it is free and offers covered parking :) more

Italian food is not italian food, because they are giving you Salsa and cheaps as appetiezeirs and its tasteless.I went once and I know what is supposely be italian food.I was embarassed in front my family, because place is terrible and dawn expensive.NEVER AGAIN.I m pro in this and they have no clue, plus EXPENSIVE and tasteless food. Pros: food quality-sucks Cons: sucks-always is empty and there is big reason, teribble more

Best Unpretentious, Authentic Italian Food in Utah! Hands down. 4/5/2008

I come to Salt Lake from Los Angeles about twice a year to visit family. I eat out all the time both in L.A. and in S.L.C. and Tucci?s is by far the ?Best Italian Restaurant? that I have been to. Sure you can go to the ?Valentino? in Santa Monica, or ?Il Cielo? in Beverly Hills, or to ?Cucina Toscana? in Salt Lake and in all of those places you will get a great meal but you will also pay a lot more. The service and customers are all a little too pretentious for my taste. I want a great authentic Italian meal with personable and attentive service. That is why Tucci?s Cucina Italiana is the best Italian restaurant I know of. If you go out once a year and you want to dine like V.P. Cheney and his Haliburton buddies than I do suggest going to those other restaurants. Throw on your best duds, grab your best girl, and stop at the ATM before you arrive. But if you want a great Italian restaurant that you can afford go to once a week and try real authentic Italian food with a nice glass of wine than go to Tucci?s. Pros: Great Service, Authentic Food, Excellent Value, and Sweet Patio Cons: Only One Location more

Tucci's Rocks! 2/28/2008

I have traveled extensively throughout the US and Italy and I have to say that Tucci's far exceeded my expectations. The service is great, the food is delicious and authentic, the wait staff are friendly and efficient, the ambience is gorgeous, the prices are inexpensive and it leaves me feeling like I am in Tuscany. With so many chain places such as Fazoli's and Olive Garden that cater the Americanized Italian foods it's great to be able to go to Tucci's and actually have an authentic meal. :) Pros: Authentic, Delicious, Friendly, Nice Ambience Cons: Not enough locations more

Best Service, Excellent Food, Perfect Experience 9/8/2007

We went to Tucci's on Saturday night (09/08/07) initially just to get some Take Out food. We were greeted at the door by one of the owners who had a genuine welcome for us. He was from Europe and was very enthusiastic about helping us in any way possible. We told him that we would like to get Take Out and he got us some menus and proceeded to show us specialty items that were on display. They looked incredible and it was pretty cool to see exactly what they look like. Pros: Service, Atmosphere, Amenaties, Food, and Authenticity Cons: Other guests behaving poorly more

Worst customer service you can imagine, Food is ok, but not worth the bad service and long waits! 4/21/2007

We got to Tucci's on a Friday night for dinner and waited the expected 15 minutes to be sat; but that was all that was normal. We then had a server named Pero, from Croatia, that performed so poorly that I did not know what to do. I've never had a server take so long to greet my table (about 10 minutes), get a water (about 10 minutes after placing our drink/food order), get a bar drink (another 5 minutes on top of the water time). The food then came out before my friend's salad (though Pero had assured him that he would be right out with the salad on multiple occasions) We all ordered calazones, and that too was too much for this restaraunt crew to handle. The server dropping the food looked confused each time he grabbed a plate; then he read some random list of ingredients (though none of them were in that calazone) and then just placed it seemingly randomly around the table (we later disected them to figure out whos was whos... kinda destroys the presentation of a calazone when you have to tear it open because your restaraunt staff does not care who gets what. The end was best though; after waiting for Pero for another 15-20 minutes to bring out checks, one of my friends finally made a host get a manager. All of us at the table were either current or past servers/bartenders, so I felt kinda bad that my friend did this; until I heard what the manager had to say! When my friend said it was the worst service he had ever had, but that he would still come back to try again, the manger shrugged, informing us 'it's up to you if you come back'. Another service staff member who was obviously hurt that we complained about his buddy came by our table to make wise remarks as we left and hold a thumbs up (not sure for what...) I've been to Tucci's multiple times, but I will never go back. Pros: ... Cons: Service, Management more

Nasty 9/7/2006

I heard that this place was pretty good, yea right!!! first of all if you order Juice of any kind make sure you tell them no ice or they will bring you a huge cup of ice with just a shot of Juice. After five people ordered things were going well we were brought our appitizer, then some stale bread and an ok salad. After all that was finished our meals were brought out.... my meal was the wrong thing and the waiter argued with me that this was what I ordered, but he finally brought out the right meal, wich was cold, the fish had absolutly no flavor the vegetables still had dirt on them plus were not cooked at all, my friends husband had the same problem with his veggies. The pasta had no flavor it was like they had just poured a can of tomatoes on some noodles. Pros: Kids can color on the tables Cons: cold food, dirt on veggies garanteed it was not pepper or any spice, waiters don't listen to what you want more

Overpriced, and just average. 6/18/2006

Chain Italian food. Not much more to say. Usually crowded and a bit of a wait for seating. Soups are Ok. That's what I stick with if I'm eating here with a group. Just the basics for kids. Chicken fingers, spaghetti, or mac & cheese. more

Quiet restaurant...empty for a reason. 5/24/2005

2 bad experiences in 3 weeks. The first experience was with extended family. 8 people ordered. One person ordered a pasta dish, but was dissatisfied because the dish was very heavily loaded with onions. The onion flavor was overpowering. Two people ordered lasagnia, and both were delivered ice cold. The others complained about a lack of taste. Today, 5/25/05, a group of 8 business associates and I decided to give your establishment another chance. Unfortunately, we were again disappointed in both the food and the service. The pasta dishes were all served cold. There was a very long wait between ordering and serving. Requests for drink refils were taking 15-20 minutes. If I were to write a summary, I would say ""nice, quiet atmosphere, with lackluster service, and poor tasting food."" You need new chefs! Pros: Facility: Nice, Good Parking Cons: lousy food, Expensive, SLOW Service more

doesnt deserve to be called 'italian' 3/1/2003

if you are craving bad italian food in small portions, head down to olive garden and save yourself at least $5 a plate. seriously, this is the worst food ever for the price. we ordered take out only to discover cold, chewy calimari, small, lukewarm portions of ravioli, tasteless, dry cappellini, and inadequate little tubs of bread dipping oil. the only thing that was appetizing was a calzone, which happened to be burnt on the bottom. we called the manager, and his explanation was that ""it's the way we do it"". if you want more food for your dollar, head to olive garden or the old spaghetti factory. this resturant shames the country of italy. Pros: umm, wait just a sec..., nevermind... nothing. Cons: overpriced, bad food, just plain bad. more
