Best BBQ In The Area - Only BBQ In The Area 4/26/2006

The Cookhouse is amazing...the atmosphere is great, but OH the food. If you like BBQ/Southern/Soul food this is the place for you. Pulled pork, ribs & brisket so tender is just falls off the bone. Also an array of chicken dishes, meatloaf and other cool stuff. And of course a variety of "southern" sides - and my favorite - fried okra. Hard to come by good fried okra in CT! more

Such a "fun" place! 7/25/2005

The Cookhouse has amazing food, and such a fun atmosphere! They have full rib dinners on the menu but I got their famous pulled pork sandwich, which I HIGHLY recommend! They serve warn cornbread and biscuits and they have 3 different barbecue sauces on the table - Mild, Hot and Scary. The food is tremendous - everyone seems to leave with a doggy bag though because they do give a lot of food. more
