Inexpensive Summer Fun! 4/14/2006

This splash park is one of our favorite things to do in the summer. It is small enough that you can bring several children of different ages and keep an eye on all. The kiddie island is great for all age children and they have several lifeguards to "police" this area, so if I loose track of my child for a moment, I do not panick. The main pool is great because there are umbrellas at the shallow end and you can sit in inches of water and just relax. We have season passes here and it's a great deal. The only thing I do not like is the food; tastes horrible to me! more

Fun in the sun and with lots of water too! 8/20/2005

Splash Zone is located within James Island County Park. It is a very exciting water park with water activities for the whole family. There is a lazy river, pool that start out with just inches so that even the little ones can play, two exciting water slides and a kiddie pool, complete with its own slide and water gadgets. The price to enter is fair- Charleston County Residents are $8.99 and NCCR are $9.99, with under 2 free. There are refreshments and Dippin Dots sold on the premises, so you don't have to stray far from the water to get a bite to eat! more

Great Water Park/Nice Park 8/18/2005

The Charleston County Parks have three parks. Having a son who is 7 and not a strong swimmer, our favorite is James Island County Park's Splash Zone. They have a lazy river you can float in inner tubes on, a fun kids zone with buckets and fountains, sprayers, etc. , a pool and a place to sit down and eat. You can rent a locker for $3 or $5 to put your wallet, etc. in. Lifeguards are everywhere and it is a safe and family friendly atmosphere. No big rides at this one but fun for kids and teens, still. You can buy a yearly pass or pay as you go. After 3:00 pm admission is cheaper. You do have to pay $1 a person to get into the park gate (the entrance is at the County Park gate) so keep that in mind. more
