Going Down Hill... 11/23/2011

I have been going to Spa Habitat since 2009. I've been to both the Uptown and Plano locations. I can say this about their services: Organic back therapy: so-so, not the best massage, the pampering part was great Flower Power Facial: Typical Ultrasonic Facial: Amazing, out of this world, does wonders for my skin! Bikini Wax: Painful Annie is by far the best at facials. She offered great advice and seemed genuinely concerned about helping me look my best. And yes, they do push products on you. However, if not for this tactic I would have never discovered In Fiore. It is high priced but is an amazing product. Generally, with the ultrasonic facials they use this product on me at my request, no problem. As I was once told, if you are getting one of the most expensive facials on the menu you should use the best products we have. During my last facial I was informed it would be an additional $20 to use that line of product (despite the fact I use it at home and always purchase from you?!) Putting my facial up to $160? No thanks! We used Clovertree instead. Further, I think the woman who worked on me was a massage therapist. She was clumsy (banging stuff around, hitting my table with her chair, dropping items), did not offer to do extractions, and did not follow the usual pattern of using the ultrasonic machine...but she gave one heck of a neck and shoulder massage. With that said, I feel like I paid $140 for a so-so facial. If I can find another spa in the area that offers ultrasonic facials I would definitely go elsewhere. more

Spa Habitat 5/19/2010

I went to spa habitat for Mother's Day, and took my mom and sister along with me for a spa day. It turned out to be a big disappointment. I read the reviews of people's experience at spa habitat and thought this must be a great spa. We arrived about thirty minutes before our appointment time and was greeted with a smile and a warm neck pillow, however we went to set and fill out paperwork and staff was running around like they were overwhelmed and one of them had a really nasty attitude. It was hard to relax, the place was overbooked and did not have adequate space for clients to sit and be comfortable. When it came time for mines and my sister massage we were rushed. I felt as though I was rubbed down with oil instead of massaged. There's a BIG difference in a rub down and a massage. I found the prices to be extremely high for the quality you get. Overall this place was a little below average for me, there are good places in Plano where you can get a great massage for a cheaper price. Pros: Facials Cons: Horrible Massage more

Spa Habitat=painful massage and rude receptionist 7/20/2009

I found Spa Habitat through Spa Finder after receiving Spa Finder gift certificates from friends. I loved the idea of things being "natural". I scheduled a massage at the location in Dallas and called to ask for directions after parking. The receptionist sounded annoyed. She maintained this attitude of annoyance with me when I arrived (on time). I have never had a unpleasant massage before going to Spa Habitat, but the massage I got there was PAINFUL, and the girl who gave it to me was as unfriendly and snobby as the receptionist. Such a dissapointment. I have had wonderful experiences at the Aveda Spa on Park Lane as well as the RedDoor Spa across from Northpark. Even massage schools have better massage therapists. I will NEVER return. Pros: none experienced Cons: painful massage experience & unfriendly service more

Ridiculously Overpriced! 10/13/2008

I have been to several day spas in the collin county area and this is one of the most expensive places in the metroplex. The massages are overpriced and they are no better than any other day spa. If you are on a budget then this is not the place to go. Pros: cute little house Cons: overpriced services more

Fantastic Organic Massage! 9/19/2008

I have been to Spa habitat and agree that this is an amazing place. The massage and aroma therapy that is provided is top notch. I love the organic aspect of this spa because since everything seems so toxic these days, the last thing I want massaged into my body is toxins! The organic products are hard to find, so I find the offerings convenient and fantastic. I would highly recommend this to any of my Yoga gals that are looking for a great spa with all natural products. Thank you Spa Habitat for being here in Dallas for us. Pros: they now have two locations! Cons: not a one! more

Worst spa experience ever! 6/21/2008

Worst massage I've ever had. They push products on you. I felt forced to buy and now regret it dearly. Very overpriced products and they didn't work. The whole experience was bad. Pros: It is a beautiful old house. That's about it. Cons: You feel forced to by products. more

The massage was the best! 6/19/2008

I DID Try the massage and it was the best! This is a beautiful victorian that looks like it was hand picked out of Montery and plopped in the middle of Plano. A peaceful and quiet atmospher with fantastic products. Excellent service and holistic approach to what seems to be a very un organic area these days. Thank you Sap Habitat, it was fantastic! Pros: Unique location and beautiful enviorment more

Waste of money... 6/2/2008

I received a $100 gift certificate for my birthday and was very excited about getting the best facial ever. I got a little turned around on the way there because I am new to Plano. I called and they said, no problem, come anyway, so I figured she still had time to do my full appointment. I was disappointed when I found that the facial was cut very short because she had someone else coming right after me. I was the one who ran late, but didn't expect to be charged for the full facial when it was cut so short. Also, the extractions were done by hand, not with an instrument, which isn't as effective and can irritate the skin around where you have an extraction. For such a pricey place, I expected the best. I purchased a product to fade the minor discoloration on my face away. A very tiny bottle for $45! I have finished it and it didn't work a bit. The whole experience was a waste of money. I wish I'd tried the massage instead. Maybe that would have been better. Pros: Gorgeous Victorian home with wood floors. Very nice atmosphere. Cons: Overpriced for what you get. more

harldy worth the money 4/6/2008

I spend $200 on a massage for me and my boyfriend and was mistakenly thinking this was the place to take him. He never had massage before. I asked for deeper pressure and never got it my boyfriend said his neck hurts worse than what it did when we showed up. Very disgusted!! Pros: none there Cons: many more

WONDERFUL! 3/13/2008

My fiance told me to choose a spa, and this was my Valentine's Day gift. I chose Spa Habitat based on alll the reviews I read, and it definately lives up to all the wonderful things that are said about this charming spa. From the minute I stepped in I felt relaxed, the I've never had a facial, but it was such a great experience I think I am now going to make sure I get another one. The deep tissue was relaxing and took out all the stress I get from working out. The staff is courteous and kind, and helpful. I highly HIGHLY recommend this place, I've been to a couple Dallas spas and this is the one I think I will make my regular one to visit more

The Best 3/4/2008

I have been going to Always at Peace nka Spa Habitat for a few years (since they first opened). I'm treated very well by the owner and staff alike. That's part of the reason that I keep coming back, in addition to a great massage. I have been seeing Shelly for over 6 months and have nothing but good things to say about her services. I feel like a million bucks when I leave there and can't wait until my next appointment. Keep up the good work. more

Absolutely Heaven on Earth! Best Massage Ever! 12/11/2007

My wife and I can't say enough about Spa Habitat. We felt so welcome and our therapist treated us like we were royality. My massage was excellent! We love the fact that they use organic products and even the linens are organic! By far the most inviting and relaxing experience we have ever had. We will tell many people not to miss out on such a classy spa! Many thanks. more

Overpriced Massage 10/16/2007

My husband and I were there a few weeks ago for a couple's massage. The old home is very nice, we love old homes. But the massages were pretty weak. The therapists did not ask us about our preferences, the one therapist conferred with my husband about his massage, but the one working on me didn't barely say anything to me. They never checked with either of us about whether pressure was good or not, and both the massages were very weak. Neither my husband nor I wants super pressure, but some would be great. It was advertised as hot stone, but they only used 3 hot stones on each of us. It was WAY overpriced, we would go to a massage school and probably get a better massage. more

This spa is so-so..wouldn't call it the best. 9/26/2007

Had an appointment here for a spa package. The service and experience was so-so - not very impressive as the reviews indicate. I've been to many spas around the world and wouldn't rank this place as one of the best at all. The staff at the front desk seemed unprepared in spite of their reminder a day before to be there 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. The place was not as relaxing as the pictures imply...the entire place could use some renovation...place looks old...I understand that it's in the "historic" part of town..but still! Furthermore, the plug-in portable water fountain kept on whirring the entire time I was getting a massage it was so distracting and not very relaxing. The same thing happened in the other room where I had a facial. more

Awesome Employees 7/6/2007

Kelli, the waxing technician, makes you feel comfortable with her professionalism and friendiness. Every time I visit she greets me warmly and does exactly what I ask in the quickest and easiest way possible. I would highly recommend her services to anyone. more

Always at Peace Organic Day Spa 7/4/2007

While searching the Internet for someplace local that did Eyelash Extensions, I came across "Always at Peace Organic Day Spa". I was quite impressed with their web site & all of the many services they had to offer. So I decided to give them a call & inqiure about the cost of a set of extensions. I placed a call to them on a Monday, the moment my call was answered I hear this, "AlwaysAtPeaceSpaCanYouHold!? CLICK, before I could even say "sure.". I am at my computer desk, & happen to glance at the time. So I wait, play a game of solitaire while I am waiting, then another; ok, I have been on hold for 7 minutes by now. I decide to wait a while longer... a couple more games of solitare, & I look at the clock on my computer! I have been on hold for over 12, yes you have it right TWELVE solid minutes & no one has even gotten back to me! The Spa may be the Bee's Knees, but if you have that kind of wait to even get set up for an appointment, I think I'll go someplace where they have time for me! I'm SO sorry for the bad review, I hate writing them, but I felt that you needed to know that you have an itty bitty problem with your receptionist and/or bookings. :( more

Most relaxing atmosphere; super staff 5/29/2007

If the name alone doesn't relax you, the service you receive from the moment you walk into this beautifully restored cottage will. From the delicious flavored water they serve to the relaxing heated beds you are pampered every step of the way. I've been an eyelash extension customer for a year and half and have yet to be disappointed. My calls to make appointments are returned promptly, I've never had to wait more than five minutes, and every specialist I've used has been friendly and helpful. I've referred many friends and co-workers and will continue to do so. Pros: Atmosphere, staff, customer service Cons: None more

Peaceful, Professional, and Pleasing 5/28/2007

For a little over two years, I have enjoyed the services of Always at Peace day spa. Previous experiences at other spas had left much to be desired, in my opinion, leaving me reluctant to try again until my husband convinced me to try one more. Starting with a massage every once in a while, I now take pleasure in a weekly massage and occasionally indulge in their other services such as facials and foot treatments. I have worked as a 911 dispatcher for over six years and completely believe the relaxing atmosphere and wonderful weekly experiences at this spa have saved me numerous times from total burn-out. Their foot treatments and facials leave me feeling pampered and fresh and their focus on organic-only products encourage overall health for the mind and body. From the moment I enter the soothingly scented house, through the professionally executed massage of ultimate relaxation, until a regretted departure, Always at Peace allows me the opportunity to unwind and recover my sanity before returning to a chaotic and stressful world that is 911. I whole-heartedly recommend this experience to any and all individuals looking to recuperate. more

Perfect place! 6/19/2006

I was pampered all day here. First was the massage - it was the Sweedish - extremely relaxing! The table was very comfortable, the music was soothing and the therapist was very professional. She had magic fingers! Second was the facial. I have never had one, but I know that there is no other that can come close to this wonderful experience! My face looks and feels wonderful - and the massage was excellent. A short break with a little lunch was very nice. Last was the manicure and pedicure - outstanding! What a comfy chair to sit back in and get a wonderful pedicure. All of the services I experiened were the "signature" choices. I was never hurried thru anything. The staff was very attentive to me - I felt like I was the only one there! The atmosphere is so relaxing and tranquil. It was truly a day to remember - I can't wait to go back! Pros: atmosphere, friendly, professional Cons: none more

The Best! 6/13/2006

This was the most relaxing experience. The staff is friendly and helpful and you feel like it's all about you! I've been to several spas in the area and I like the how "quaint" this one is. The massage, facial and pedicure left me feeling like I didn't have a care in the world! Pros: atmosphere, service Cons: that I can't go every day! more
