Fresh buffet with attendants constantly refreshing. Great service always with a smile. Even on my visits where I was difficult, they quickly accommodated my every (sometimes ridicules) requests. Understandably in these tuff times the other (not so fresh) Seafood buffets ( I will not bother naming) that's name seems to accompany EVERY bad review, has resorted to slander. I have been dining here every time I visit beach for last 10 years and yet to have had a bad experience. I am a resident of NYC and have enjoyed some of the best cuisine in the world. I am hard pressed to find a better buffet with fresher seafood anywhere on the oceanfront. The Alaskan snow crab legs were huge and meaty and our waitress even showed people how to open them with ease. The assortment of fried, steamed, and broiled seafood items was exceptional, and the large variety of non-seafood items was great too. I did notice the items change periodically and have noticed different items on the buffet on my various trips, however I appreciate their effort to change the variety and supply the freshest catch of the day. My family and I would highly recommend this establishment as we have enjoyed our many dining experiences at Seafood Harbor over the last 10 years. We've even joined them for Breakfast and were impressed with the vast selections on all their buffets. In July a filling lunch here followed by nap time on the beach is a dream come true. Don't let the sour individual with OCD about complaining about this lovely restaurant dissuade from enjoying the fine dining at SEAFOOD HARBOR. For $3 more, I could have (and did the next nite) go to Capt. George's. This was the worst seafood place I've ever been -- and the price for the dried up stuff was a ""slap in the face"". I don't mind paying for a ""nice"" seafood dinner (and there were 5 adults), but I want fresh seafood and the pans kept at least 1/2 full. The ladies bathroom was ""nasty"", dirty, no toliet tissue and the place smelled horrible. I would never recommend this place and will never return. First of all, Seafood Harbor is excellent. The video ad on citysearch is accurate; and the food is as delicious as it looks in the video. I can't believe the reviews I see on this website. To me, it seems as though one person had a bad experience and left a bunch of bad reviews...which is sad. I go to Virginia Beach every year and have eaten at Seafood Harbor too many times to count...NEVER having a bad experience. The buffet is huge and amazing...with so many choices...and how many buffets do you know that offer all-you-can-eat Alaskan Snow Crab Legs?! Deee-LISH!!! This restaurant is so close to the beach that you can go, eat, and spend the rest of the day at the beach without getting hungry since the portions are so big. Everything I have tried on the menu has been cooked perfectly, and everyone I have gone with has been 100% satisfied. The food is fresh, the restaurant is clean, and the service is great!! What more could you ask for? I vote for SEAFOOD HARBOR as having the best seafood (and steaks!!) in Virginia Beach. Try it and you will surely agree! Bon appetit!!! well i agree 100% with all the negative feed back everyone else had to say, i saw the video and said hey ill give it a shot, WRONG.. my family and i got their early, the buffet was not even ready for starters, and then the drink i ordered was a poor excuse of a drink at all, i've talked to many people that have went here and all say never again, if you want a REAL buffet and one that actually is good, try great go to captain georges! i'll tell you in my visit i went 3 times in a week, it was the best and always packed with tons of people, seafood harbor has a poor excuse for a good staff they are lazy and not friendly at all, it may look ok from the outside but do yourself a favor and dont walk through that door it is the biggest mistake you will make trust me Pros: location Cons: what aren't this place is by far the worst more

On our first night in virginia beach we decided to stop in at seafod harbor for dinner. We found the place in one of the free guide books you get at the hotel. Their ad claims they are the ""Most highly recommended buffet on the beach"" or some nonsense like that. They go on to list a great selection of seafood items to be included on their buffet. So we decided to go only to be very disappointed. Disappointed so much that we felt like we were deceived by their ad. The buffet did not include several of the items they had listed in the ad and there is just no way this place is recommended by anyone who has ever ate there. To top it all off they wanted to charge me 7.99 each for my 3 year old 4 year old to from the bar. Ended up spending 80.00, not including any alcoholic beverages for 2 adults and 2 kids. Seafood Harbor is the worst seafood buffet I have ever been to. I totally agree with the last BAD report. As to the response to the last report, when we went there were no sea scallops -- there were only fried bay scallops that tasted raunchy. Also, I have never seen a seafood buffet that did not even have whole steamed clams. The mussels were tiny and tasted bad -- same with some of the tiny shrimp which were mush and tasted bad. And the so-called crab cakes were tasteless and burned. As with the last report, most of the food was cold -- the only decent item on the buffet was the snow crab legs, but even they were over-salted -- all else was junk! The so-called fish fillet was only one chopped piece of fillet that was unrecognizable. They also had BBQ ribs, which were so tough it hurt my teeth to chew the small piece I tried and left the rest behind. And nothing was labeled -- half of what was there was unrecognizable. Also, it is not the best seafood buffet in Virginia Beach -- Captain George has them beat by a long shot! Maybe it's not directly on the beach, but I'll drive the distance. And when it comes to the salad and desert buffets -- they were skimpy at best. White lettuce with a few toppings. I didn't know Little Debbie was your cake baker! And the pudding came from an instant box! I don't know how you people can get away with saying you're the best! Besides the food, the atmosphere was dark, dirty, and tables crowded together so you can barely walk. Is it your policy to have the wait staff lie and say they are better than other buffets in the area? We specifically asked how they compare to Captain George and were told they were much better than Captain George. The lying goes as far as telling us when we asked for Ginger Ale that the waiter told us he can make it up special for us -- using Sprite with a splash of Coke! Where is the Ginger Ale in that! Absolutely the best boufe and best service in VA Beach! I went there with my parents 3 years ago and whenever i visit the i literally eat there every day. Great atmosphere and good food, at reasonable prices! Pros: Friendly Management more

Our family has vacationed at Virginia Beach for the last 5 years and this is the best buffet that we have been too. I have never written a review before but after reading the negative one before me, I felt I had to set the record straight. This is the best value and selection for a buffet on the boardwalk. There are cheaper options that claim to have the same selection, but it is all a lie! Just go to Seafood Harbor and enjoy your meal! more

This place is awful. All of the food was cold, most of the food was overcooked and the restaurant was dark and uninviting. We assumed that the really dark setting was to mask what you were really eating. We were only there 5 minutes before we asked for bill. Didn't want to make a scene, so we paid $60 for food that was inedible. Looking back at it, no one asked if there was anything wrong. Probably because they already knew that there buffet was the worst in VA Beach. more
