I recently moved to Scottsdale from Aspen and I was so worried about my hair!! For 3 years I had always went to the same woman who took such good care of me and my high expectations for of hair. So obviously I was aprehensive about finding anyone that I felt would be as good, NEVER thinking I would find someone who was actually BETTER!!! I feel guilty but hey, I moved! I made an appointment at Salon Tru because of the great ratings and when I asked for their best extension stylist they gave me Jena.\r \r She was amazing!!! I told her what I wanted and that I was thinking about different kinds of extensions that could better suit me. She explained to me about the benefits of Flash Point extensions and how much easier they are to maintain and take out, if need be. Then she gave me a crash course in color and hair. I felt so safe in her professionalism that I actually let her do what she felt would look best for me!! \r \r My hair looks AMAZING!!! I am so happy and I can't believe how lucky I got with her! This doesn't happen often so I want to spread the word. Everytime I go to Jena she does an incredible job and doesn't charge as much as other stylists I've tried in Scottsdale. I had colored my hair black and a different stylist told me I couldn't lighten it. Jena said I could and took the extra time out of her day to lift the dye out and fix it. After trying number of salons and getting disapointed by inexperienced people who cut corners and charge a sh$t load just because they're in Scottsdale I decided to try this salon. I chose to go with Jenna Mourray because of her experince (from her bio on the website) and i was right. I've been going to her for 2 years now and all i can say is: she's a genius. I get highlights (full head) and hair cut and each time they are immaculate. If you are looking for somebody that's professional, experienced and has a lot of style Jenna is your girl. more

Salon Tru is in a great location. It's right in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. Very easy to find.\r \r I found Jena as a referral from a friend. She is amazing!!! She has tons of experience and creativity. She will work with you and collaborate about the look that you're going for. I've been referring my friends to her as well. \r \r I usually get highlights or lowlights and a cut. After only two appointments with Jena I felt comfortable enough to ask her opinion and let her do what she thought might be best. She will err on the side of caution rather than ruin your hair. She suggested that I try a demi-permanent hair color rather than permanent at first since I was going so much darker than usual. I love it!! So much that I'm going to go back and get it done as permanent dye.\r \r She's very professional and I love the way that she always looks at you straight on; not in the mirror at herself being dismissive during your consultation. \r \r Jena is the best!!! I have never had an experience like this before- she LISTENED, offered suggestions, and worked on my hair until I was HAPPY, all with a big SMILE on her face! I went to Kaylee after having a bad experience with salon-applied extensions that ended up severely damaging me hair. Kaylee could not have been nicer or more comforting to me in my hair crisis. Kaylee’s hair extensions are such high quality ,extremely natural looking and affordable. She was able to match exactly the color of my hair, it was uncanny! She is quite skilled at what she does. She can custom-design hair extensions that are perfectly suited to each indivual customer.\r What impressed me most was Kaylee’s professionalism and her clear passion for what she does. I have had nothing but great experiences with Helen and Salon Tru. She is very personable and ACTUALLY LISTENS to what i want and then offers advice. A lot of stylists hear what you're saying but still do what they want or think is best. While i was there a couple other stylists actually came up and asked Helen for her advice on their clients. I came in to the salon after a horrid experience from another salon. I went to Jenna I had a brownish, blackish, grayish, greenish hair color, that was suppose to be a light golden brown color. Jenna used a color remover to get my hair back to the blond it was earlier this week. Next week she is going to get me to the golden brown I should have been. She is absolutely amazing, and she is such a sweetheart. I will be going to her for now on, no one but Jenna will be doing my hair. Misty Doble does a wonderful job at hair extensions! I was thrilled and they looked fabulous! I asked her to do my extensions for my vacation because I wanted to have beautiful hair every day of my trip. Not only did they make me look younger (bonus!!), but I loved the versatility and found them much easier to take care of than I expected. Misty did such a great job that no one knew they were extensions...even my closest friends! Not only do I highly recommend Misty because she does great color and cut, but her extensions are incredible! Pros: Looked like my own hair, lots of compliments! more

Maren does an amazing job with highlights. I've had my hair colored at so-called high-end salons paying twice what I do at Tru with nowhere near the great results. She's friendly and warm, and the salon atmosphere is relaxed and never intimidating. 5 stars! more

I went here on the recommendation of a girlfriend when I moved to Phoenix. I loved her color and went to Kaylee, her colorist. She gave me the absolute PERFECT BLONDE. My hair never looked better. Unlike many stylists I've encountered with big egos and an agenda, Kaylee listened and got it just right. She gave me the best blonde I've ever had and the perfect cut. I now have experimented with several haircuts - long, short, bangs, etc. Kaylee always got it just right. I brought my mom here during a visit and Kaylee got rid of the brassiness her regular stylist has been trying to amend for years. I now live in NYC but am seriously considering flying back to Phoenix just to get my hair done I wish I could find a salon as great and as affordable in Manhattan.
