I didn't know this little carry-out joint was so close to my house until a friend told me about it. I gave it a try and I must say they've got what it takes!! From the freshly cooked paratha rolls and biriyanis to the desi pizzas or burgers... everything's got a zing. Even my American fiancee (who didn't care much about Indian food until now) has got a liking for Saffron. I'm happy!!! Pros: Fresh.. and that's EVERYTHING!!! Cons: Umm... the decor maybe?? more

Folks.. I'm a food freak and love Indian Cuisine - Hailing from North India my taste buds rejected all restaurants in the chicago land - just too bland ; chicken dishes over cooked or cooked without proper marination; Pros: No 1der they get 5 star ratings Cons: kidding me?? everything is the best more

Excellent food 12/12/2008

Saffron offers an excellent place to have authentic Indian food. We went there after reading some of the good reviews about them and we were certainly not disappointed. The food is as authentic as it gets. more

You HAVE to try the chicken Biriyani. 10/27/2008

Yes, I agree the biriyani is a little spicier than most restaurants, but it is simply superb. It is not too oily or too dry as with most indian restaurants. The spices are just right and the rice tastes fresh. I have had it about 3 times now and it tasted the same everytime. The guys at Saffron know what they are doing. more

Fish fry to die for 8/15/2008

I'm pretty picky about food...I'm mostly disappointed when I eat out usually because of the commonality of mediocrity. This is definitely recommended. The fish fry was very tasty, the fish was fresh. The only other place that I had such good fish was at an Indian restaurant in Dallas TX. The channa massala and the chicken massala were good too. I was pleasantly surprised about the Indian twist on the pizza. You can order all of your typical pizza variery but with a fusion of indian ingredients. I ended up ordering it also to go and I am enjoying it right now. The staff were very friendly and went the extra mile to ensure that we were taken care off. Try it?.you?ll like it!! more

Hamburger ........... mmmmm... BEST I've ever had!!!! 6/9/2008

I love trying different burgers and this place has the best burger I have had for a while!! Spicy, juicy and cooked just right. I had a Mango Lassi with it and it was the perfect icing on the cake. Highly recommended! more

And save yourself a trip to Devon. The food is everything you could want. Truly homely. The sheek kabob roll is highly recommended. more

Cheap and Delicious 5/13/2008

I've tried India House and New Delhi for Indian food in the Schaumburg area and Saffron is by all means at par. I had a pizza... truly unique... definitely Indian. My daughter had the Biriyani and she liked it. And she's had Indian at a lot of places. more
