Great Filets & Service 8/2/2009

We were seated promptly on a Saturday evening, the waitress arrived at our table with a smile and explained the specials and the 500 degree plates. We started with Oysters Rockefeller that were superb. Filet Oscar with sweet potato casserole and broccoli au gratin left no room for desset. We would definitely return. Pros: Free Valet parking, fabulous staff, best filet Cons: Very pricey and noisy more

Awful Service 6/26/2008

My husband and I came down to Atlantic City to celebrate our Engagement. My brother-in-law, who is a NJ State Trooper, also attended. When the waiter brought out our food, some grease form the plate dripped onto my brother's pants. The waiter brought back a napkin soaked in water and advised him to use this to clean it off. Afetr attempting to clean it off, my borhter had asked for the Manager. The manager then came out and said he apologizes and that he if he took the pants to get drycleaned, he would reimburse the amount. So, he had to take his pants and then drive all the way back down there to get refunded for drycleaning. He advised the Manager how inconvenient that was and if he were to take some $$ off of his dinner they would be even. The manager refused to do so. Cons: Service, Parking more

Best place for a celebration!!!!! 4/20/2008

A couple of weeks ago my children had a celebration for me turning fifty at Ruth's Chris Steak House. My whole experience was amazing. There were twenty of us and they accommodated every one of us perfectly. Alot of my guests have never dined at a Ruth's Chris before as well as myself. The servers were professional and knowledgeable about everything we asked. They told us the history of the place. They also told us about how their steaks were seasoned and prepare in an 1800 degree oven. They warned us that the steaks would come out on 500 degree plates. They really meant it ! Take my word for it they told me at least five times and I touched it anyway. They informed us that the menu was ala carte and that we would have to order our veggies and potatoes separately, but that they were serve family style enough for two to three people. I appreciated that they didn't let us over order. The appetizers that the servers chose for us were Wonderful. My suggestion is that you order a nice ribeye if you like a tender steak with some marbling and the dessert like sweet poatoes. We are already planning to have my husband's birthday there when he turns sixty in two years. Thanks to my servers and Ruth's Chris for making my milestone a memorable one!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Impeccable service and Amazing food Cons: Nothing two thumps up!! more

Ruth's Chris had the biggest and most tender filet I've ever had. I ordered a 3 1/2 lb steamed maine loster for the table and my friends loved it from presentation to taste. 4/17/2008

I recently dined at Ruth's Chris steak house in Atlantic city and had a great time. It was my first time there my server was a wonderful girl named Stacey. She greeted my friends and I with a smile. She then explained the history and the traditions of the restaurant like the 500 hundred degree dinner pates. There was 6 of us so we wanted to get a couple bottles of wine for the table. She recommended a fablous pinot noir from the nicely stocked wine list. It went great with the appietizers, filet and the lobster. I was surprised to see she wasn't recommending me the most expense bottle of wine, it wasn't the cheapest but it was well worth it. The food came out timely and I didn't feel rushed. The setting of the restaurant is modern and romantic. The sides were family style but there was plenty for the table. It brought back fond memories of sitting down to dinner with my famly talking about our days and passing around food. All of the servers were working together when my dinner came out sizziling 3 servers were assisting my table, talk about pampering. It was my friends birthday and the server brought out a complimentory piece of chocolate cake with a candle in it. I would highly recommend Ruth Chris steak house to everyone the food taste to good to be true, its going to be hard going anywhere esle and finding a better steak. Pros: vallet parking and outsude patio Cons: None to speek of more

Great Steaks, Great Service! 4/16/2008

WOW! What a great experience. We arrived on a busy Friday night and thought we would have to wait, even though we had reservations, but were taken to our table by a smiling hostess. Our server arrived promptly and took a drink order and the bus boy brought over some of the best raisin bread I have ever had in my life. The waitress took us through a tour of the menu and told us about the history of Ruth?s Chris all the while being polite and very cordial ? she even knew our name! Pros: free valet parking Cons: none to speak of more

The best all around steakhouse 4/10/2008

I brought my husband here to celebrate his big 40th birthday. From the minute we were greeted by valet to the minute we left the building the whole staff were above friendly. We had to seat in the lounge for a few minutes, but it was ok since we had to wait for our friends to arrive. The bartender came up to us with a great big smile on her face and took our drink order. The martini she recommended was extremely fabulous. About five minutes later our guests arrived. The hostess came right up to us and informed us that our table was ready. The server came right up to table and greeted us with a smile that let me know she was happy we were there. Since we had not dine at Ruth's Chris before she proceeded to tell us a little history from the founder of Ruth's Chris to how the steaks were prepared in a 1800 degree broiler and plated it on 500 degree plate, so for us to be very careful. I was also impress that she informed us that the veggies and potatoes were enough for two to three people to share. Pros: Great food, services and friendliness Cons: a little to dark more

Not the best, but it'll do 1/16/2008

We came here for dinner with a large group. The table was reserved and we were seated immediately. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The wine list was sizeable, but the markups were about 400%. Additionally, I was not impressed with the staff wine recommendation - it was a very drinkable light red, decent on its own but underwhelming with a steak. My baked oyster appetizer was excellent - a bit on the small side, but fine as a prelude to a steak. The creamed spinach was not impressive, and neither were the mushrooms. the shoestring potatoes and onion rings were acceptable. I liked the grautin potatoes, but others did not. The T-bone steak was properly cooked and fairly tender. However, although acceptable, the steak was a grade below those served in top steakhouses both in terms of consistency and flavor. Overall, I felt it was a good meal for Atlantic City, but not deserving of praise. more

Worst steak expereince around 10/27/2007

One of the worst restaurants I have been to. The one in Parsippany was marginal for the price but the one in Atlantic city was abysmal. I took my daughter there for her birthday. Her chicken was better than my steak! The steak was (supposedly) a filet but was thin (not what you'd expect for a filet) and tough; at first it was underdone and then when I sent it back it came out like shoe leather. Worst steak I have ever had and I have been to lots of the better more expensive steakhouses. The only good thing about my meal was the dessert. Pros: nice looking Cons: awful steak more

good food service bad... 10/30/2006

Good food, good location next to the walk, good place for romatic atmosphere. expensive steakhouse. Pros: good steak, location Cons: price!, service more

Go Elsewhere 4/6/2006

Ruth Chris (other locations) is one of our favorites. Sadly, this location should be ashamed to have the same name. The service was horrible. We waited 40 mintues just to get drinks!! We realized it was crowded so we ordered drinks, main meal and side dishes (no appetizers, no salads) at the onset. It took 3 1/2 hours for us to get out of there! Our waiter was no where to be found. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing. We had a birthday dessert and 1 minute later, our waiter delivered another one to the wrong person at our table and DIDN""T NOTICE THAT THERE WAS ONE ALREADY ON OUR TABLE!!!!! Better yet, I mentioned this to the girl at the front desk and she did nothing. I wrote an email and never heard from them. For an A class restuarant, the service was an F. more
