Best

After reading several of the reviews here, they must have gone somewhere else. My wife and I dined here and found our food and our service to be excellent. I had the ribeye steak ...

Worst

Well, we had a lovely dinner last evening. The steaks were wonderful and the service prompt and friendly. We made the reservation because we knew we would get very good steak...

Loved Ruth's Chris But Never Again!!! 7/12/2011

Worst dining experience I ever had. We had our wedding dinner at this location on May 14th, 2011. When I made the reservation they asked if it was for a special occasion. I told them it was our wedding dinner but they never even offered so much as a ""congratulations"". We had a party of five at 5:30 in the early evening meaning that there was our table and two others in the entire restaurant. The food was ordered and the Best Man's steak, ordered medium well, came out rare. They took his steak and put it back on the grill! Not even Applebees would do that! The manager promptly came and took the steak and promised a new one cooked to perfection. He personally brought the new steak out and waited for my friend to cut into it. RARE AGAIN!! They comped his steak and forced us to take a desert that nobody wanted or ate. My friend also went to the manager on the way in and gave him his credit card to pay the bill as a wedding gift to us. The waitress still brought the bill to the table. Drinks were not refilled on time and dirty plates were left on the table for far too long. Upon returning home we called the corporate office to make them aware of our experience and they sent us a $20 check ""to cover cab fare"". It was a very low-class experience and Ruth's Chris has lost a devoted customer for life. There are so many other nice steakhouses to choose from. My best advice is to try ANY of them rather than go to Ruth's Chris! more

As expected, but check the prices 4/20/2009

Well, we had a lovely dinner last evening. The steaks were wonderful and the service prompt and friendly. We made the reservation because we knew we would get very good steak complimented by solid and accomodating service. \r \r We had a suprise, however. We asked the waiter about cabernet by the glass. He mentioned two choices and we asked for the better of the two. When the bill arrived, we were charged $49 for the glass of wine! We felt that since this was beyond the normal expectation, that we should have been informed/warned. A clever way of driving up the tab, perhaps? I question the ethics of this practice so if you elect to dine here, ask questions and double check the bottom line. Pros: You can expect quality Cons: Look out for suprise charges more

Maybe the best steak I have ever eaten! 11/15/2008

After reading several of the reviews here, they must have gone somewhere else. My wife and I dined here and found our food and our service to be excellent. I had the ribeye steak and it was superb. Tough everything was alacart, we had the asparagus with hollandaise and it was a large portion and done to a T. The best part though, was the taste of the steak. Steaks that have this kind of flavor are hard to find and worth their weight in gold. It was awesome and as a former chef, I apperciate exceptional food. If price is a factor, you may not want to eat there, but if quality and ""great taste"" is what you seek, this is your place. We will be making this a regular stop when we go to Vegas in the future. Pros: Phenomenal Steaks Cons: A bit spendy, but worth every penny. more

For poor service and food; its sooo expensive it cost me my composure! 11/5/2008

My mother ordered the filet. The entree arrived and she found it was spoiled. I too tasted the entree and confirmed that it was in fact grossly inferior. We brought the matter to the attention of our server who did address the situation. Ingesting spoiled food, replaced or not, is vile but when it comes with a $37.00 price tag, the situation is that much more galling. \r \r Initially I dint not want to make a scene since the matter had been addressed but after leaving the restaurant I still felt grossly disappointed; especially having never, until tonight, left a Ruth's Chris establishment regretting I just hadn't patronized a Lawry's, Houston?s, or even a Black Angus instead. Believing the matter should be brought to the attention of the manager I called the restaurant and spoke with Patrick, one of two General Managers for the restaurant. As I expressed my concerns he stated that ""...there is no way spoiled meat is ever served..."" Patrick's apology consisted of ""...I'm sorry that you feel that you were served bad meat..."" I reminded Patrick that it was definitely not a ?feeling? but a fact; in response to my continued discontent he recommended that I submit my concerns to Ruth's Chris corporate offices.\r \r I am thoroughly astounded by the response of the General Manager of this establishment. His attitude and tone were condescending and insulting. I would expect better service from Mc Donald?s. I cannot fathom leaving an establishment of Ruth's Chris' caliber having experienced such disappointment. As I wrote earlier, I have dined at several Ruth's Chris in Southern California (San Diego, Beverly Hills, Irvine, and Palm Desert) with beyond excellent food, servers, hostesses, and managers; so to patronize one lacking in three of those four areas is regrettable and will not be repeated.\r \r A.J. more

overhyped and overpriced 4/13/2007

my boyfriend and i went there for valentines day...i heard so much hype about the restaurant but to tell u the truth...i would never go there again...i ordered the filet (the girl said the ""petit"" should make me full""...to my surprise...it was less than the size of my fist!!! it was around $30 for that little thing....i wish she told me that for a few dollars more, i could have gotten double the oz......the potatoes au gratin didnt have any flavor...its just some semi mashed potatoes slapped with melted cheese...my boyfriend ordered the pork chopped that had too much of an apple-y taste....their baked potato is pretty good..but then again..i can go to another restaurant for a baked potato like that, but half the price Pros: flavorful steak Cons: pricey, small portions for the price you pay more

AWESOME! 6/7/2006

I highly recomend this establishment. EVERYTHING was spectacular! From the food to the service. The parking was a bit annoying but well worth it! Pros: GOOD FOOD, GREAT SERVICE more

Best Steak house in ANY Location 10/25/2005

Las Vegas is honored to have Ruth place her restaurant there. This is a definite 5 Star dining experience. Best for 'Vegas, it is AWAY from the casino noise and crowds. I have been to many of these including over seas. ALL have the same high marks. Steaks are just exceptional. The sides of Broccoli au gratin and potatoes au gration are worthy of a noble honor. Pros: food quality, service, wine list more

Always Perfect 4/28/2004

For those very special ocassions, when everything has to be perfect, Ruth Chris has never let me down. Since the first T-Bone I savored in 1995 at the original Ruth Chris in New Orleans to the Cowboy Ribeye I ordered just last week, each and every steak from Ruth Chris has been perfectly prepared, graciously presented, and supremely delicious. Pros: Lenient on dress code, Gracious hosts, quick service more

ruth's chris steak house 11/24/2003

I always wondered why my friends from wisconsin always recommended this place to me. Its butter. Butter on the steaks. Butter disguises the flavor of the beef. Like butter on your steak this certainly is the place for you. No you will not taste the flavor of the meat. That might be okay! this place is subpar for the price you pay. Pros: fast food service Cons: quality not there, wait staff poor more

smooth 2/4/2003

This particular steakhouse is great for many reasons. You can always get steak and alaskan king crab together for a fair price, they always seat you on time if you have a reservation, service personnel are well trained and desserts are good but they should have bananas foster available. Pros: alaskan crab always a Cons: no bananas foster more

Go West Y'All 1/13/2003

I much prefer the older West Flamingo location...cozier and the food jsut seems superior Pros: atmosphere, great/best food Cons: location, very pricey more

overrated 1/3/2003

If you like your steaks cooked in butter instead of broiled over wood, high prices (very high for side dishes) and mediocre service, this is the place for you. It seems to be a favorite for tourists, perhaps because they recognize the name from the same mediocre steakhouse in their home towns. more

The Let-down at the steakhouse 1/3/2003

My wife and I have enjoyed dinner at many Ruth's Chris steak house restaurants across the country. We recently tried the one in Las Vegas[ off the main strip]. We were both unimpressed by the cafeteria like atmosphere, lack of booths, and bright lights. My wifes dinner was overcooked and she was quite disappointed. Mine, however was excellant. Because we had a show to get to, we could not send her dinner back. If we had not been to so many excellant Ruth's Chris' in the past, we might not consider going back. Pros: good food, good service Cons: no atmosphere, price, location more

She has her good days and bad days. 12/24/2002

Ruth Chris is a nice place to go Thought dinner's a little pricey The staff's good looking guys and chicks This helps digestion nicely. Consistency is not the word When you go to Ruth Chris Sometimes it's great-Sometimes it's not I really don't like this. When I find a steak I really love To that place I want to go back And when I order the same I want it to taste just like that. At Ruth Chris I have had The finest steak to reach my pallet Unfortunately, there were times I needed a chisel and mallet. Pros: good looking staff, best steak in town Cons: crowded, mediocre steak, long wait for table more

Always good 12/23/2002

gotta enjoy the selections of the staff.. Miguel is one of the best in my book, excellent food and plenty of it..take home the extra..and they will give you fresh bread to take with you..and great for late hours on that big nite out.. Pros: service, menu, parking good Cons: sometimes noisy more

GREAT STEAKS 12/19/2002

I have eaten at Ruth's Chris Steak House a number of times. I love the Filet mignon, spinach salad and shoe string potatos. My husband and I usually split the salad and potatos as the portions will definitely serve 2 people. The service is also excellent Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Large Portions Cons: A la Carte Menu more

Creme de la Creme 12/19/2002

Last winter while visiting Las Vegas a friend had suggested Ruth's. My fiance and I were quite delighted after receiving our food. I thought it was so good that not only did I finish my rather larger steak but half of his as well. I've told all my friends that it's the best steak I've ever had....and that's not a lie! Pros: Excellent Steak, Great Service more

over priced 12/4/2002

I found Ruth's to be overpriced for what was offered. The serving sizes (for side dishes) were small but pricey. I found the entire effect rather smothering - with expensive waiters hovering and interrupting conversation. Quite frankly, we enjoyed the steak house at Harrah's much more than Ruth's. Pros: tasted great Cons: expense, atmosphere stifling, crowded more

garbage 12/3/2002

I ate there a year ago and the utinsels were buffet quality, the steak was burnt and sitting in grease and the setting arraingements were crowded it was un bearable. The waitress tried to tell me that the grease was butter. I am not stupid. I know the difference between grease and butter. Cons: pricey for quality, crowded, cheap atmosphere more

Not worth it 10/26/2002

Overpriced, no flavor, and the plates are too insanely hot that you can't even eat your food once it has been served or it will burn your tounge. If you're going to pay a separate price for every side dish, you'd be better off going to someplace like Fleming's, where at least the food tastes really good. more
