Good wine tour 10/1/2006

I got confused between this wine tasting and one from Sutter Home ( http://www.judysbook.com/members/11971/posts/2006/10/466918/ ) until I looked at some old photos. We enjoyed the wine from Sutter Home, but that's all it was; a wine tasting. If you are making a trip through the CA wine country and are interested in tours, make sure you tour the Robert Mondavi Winery. What I liked about the tour was that it was seemingly more upscale than I've seen at other places; along with the wine tasting, they offered up canapés like smoked salmon that paired real well with the wine. more

First time in Napa Valley? This is the place you should definetely go! 12/11/2005

This is THE place to go if you are in the Napa Valley or visiting a winery for the first time. They tell and show you a lot about making a good wine, from growing and harvesting grapes to storing and processing wines. After getting this knowledge, you learn about different tastes and how to distinguish different flavors. They let you taste quite a good selection. Well, did we get everything they said? No!! It is hard to learn all these at once but our attitude has changed when ordering a wine in restaurants. Now we are visiting other wineries, which is better after getting the basic knowledge. more

Great Tour 8/13/2005

The Robert Mondavi winery is the Walt Disney World of wineries in the Napa Valley. This is the place to come if you want to learn about the whole wine making process, from the growing and harvesting of grapes, to storage, and bottling. They have a large selection of wines, from the inexpensive to the more expensive reserve wines, and have a great gift shop with lots of great gifts and souvenirs from your trip. more
