I have lived in this area for 12 years, and had driven past Richards Motorcars many times, but had never gone in. When I finally made it to Richards, it was mainly just to look at a specific make of BMW that I had been considering upgrading to for a few months. Joe M. showed me the vehicle that they had, and took me for a short test drive, and in a very open and straightforward manner, we discussed the vehicle price, which I knew from previous research to be a very fair price. Joe, and everyone at Richards did everything that I asked of them in order to put me in the vehicle that day, including allowing me to take the vehicle on my own for an hour to really see if it was the right one for me. Having just bought a new car for my wife the week before, I have to say it was a relief to not have to go through the classic car salesman techniques of ""I have to ask my manager"" and other shady techniques. I will definitely consider Richards Motorcars for my future purchases, and I recommend them to anyone who is in the market for a high quality used vehicle. more

One of the worst places to buy a car. I bought a high end car from this company before few days. The manager does not even know how to talk to customers. After buying the car they did not give me proper documentation for registration and everytime i called i was told someone will call back but that never happened. Avoid this place if you want to be treated well as a customer more

Third Purchase! 1/3/2012

I reside in Miami Fla. and just purchased my third vehicle from Richards Motorcars (audi a8) . I found this company on ebay approx 7 years ago when I purchased a Mercedes sl 500 sight unseen . I was very apprehensive purchasing a vehicle online without seeing it however Rich and frank (the manager ) made the process very easy and professional then and now as well. The vehicles I found at Richards Motorcars are priced very aggressively compared to similar vehicles in my area while also representing the quality that I look for in an automobile. I have recommended this dealer to a friend of mine in Atlanta Ga. Whom also purchased a vehicle (ML550) and was very satisfied! Thanks again guys! Gill more

Happy Customer 12/29/2011

Terrific experience with purchase and service, far better than a new car dealer. Selection and quality of vehicles was excellent, and there was no pressure to purchase. I have recommended Richard's to several friends and each one was delighted with their purchase. more

probably the worst dealership 2/21/2011

HORRIBLE! Some time ago I was looking for a car. The dealer had a BMW 750Li. I got there and ask to see the car. After asking to take it out for a drive, the salesperson told me to give him my social security so he can run a credit check. Upon inquiring why that was necessary, he said ""well, thats a 40 thousand dollar car"". Oh wow. Walked out right away and will never go back. I don't believe it matters, but his judgement was poor: I pulled up in a 45K car, and if they are reading: I ended up buying a more expensive car. more

Negative Experience 10/30/2010

I was interested in a 2008 Audi A4 listed by Richards Motor Cars in Malden MA and called the dealer late Friday afternoon to verify that it was still available and to schedule a test drive early Sat. morning. I spoke to Rich Fonzi who seemed aloof, but confirmed the car was available and set up an appointment for the next day between 0930 and 1000. I drove 1.5 hours and arrived at dealer at 1000. I was greeted by Rich, who said he would get the keys and bring the car out front. After about 15 minutes of searching and not finding the keys he made a phone call and told me that the car was brought into an Audi dealer for service earlier in the morning and it would not be back that day. He offered no other details. I mentioned that I specifically called the previous afternoon to insure the car would be available. He didn?t seem to care. There were no other customers in the showroom when I arrived so there?s no excuse for him not looking for the car when he arrived at 0900. Had he been on top of the situation and known the car left the lot in the morning, he could have called me and I would have returned home after only 30-40 minutes of driving. Had he done that and given me an explanation on the nature of the service call the car needed, there was a good chance I would have gone back the following Sat. or gone back to view other cars in the future had this particular car been sold. I told him I would not be coming back. His only response was, ?I know?. more

Easy and Painless 10/17/2010

I purchased an LR2. I think it was by far the easiest and most painless experience I've ever had car shopping. The salesman was wonderful and knew alot about cars. (he also gave me a few helpful tips on financing and payments) After the purchase he also followed up with me to make sure I liked the car and everything ok. I would definately recommend Richards first when it comes to car buying. more

Perfect Experience 10/2/2010

Mike Warwick was my salesperson and he could not have made the experience more pleasant. As a woman, I am always nervous dealing with salesmen but Mike took the time to explain all of the features of my new BMW. I never felt pressured and the entire process was very easy and laid back. Mike stressed that he only works by appointment to make sure that you never feel rushed. I highly recommend Richards. Book an appointment with Mike if he's available more

Worst Car Dealership Ever 3/30/2010

My Experience at Richard Motor Cars. Cons: Worst Cars, Worst Salesmen and Worst Company more

worst dealership i've ever been to 1/24/2010

I am extremely shocked by the arrogant, typical, pig-headed, chauvinistic ""salesmen"" employed by Richards Motor Cars. My husband and I visited the showroom today with full intentions of driving off the lot with an M3 convertible. Financing was done, credit was checked, numbers were settled upon. We simply wanted to test drive the vehicle before signing a legally binding purchase and sales agreement. When we questioned why we couldn''t drive the car before purchasing it (which is a completely legitimate request -- would you buy a house before seeing it?), two different salesmen became COMPLETELY arrogant and insulting. When I questioned their business practices and told them it was a little bit concerning that they wouldn''t let us test drive the vehicle before PURCHASING it, they flipped out at me, started calling me names, yelling at me, and telling me that they were happy more customers weren''t like me. They treated me like I was an idiot for wanting to test drive the vehicle! We had already agreed upon a price and were looking forward to taking the car home that night. However, the employees treated me worse than ANY business has ever treated me. Because of their complete arrogance and the fact that TWO grown men car salesmen ganged up on a young female trying to purchase a car, we walked out. They could have EASILY made 6 grand off of us tonight, but completely lost the deal because of the way we were treated. We will NEVER do business here and will tell everyone we know the same. I am shocked and appalled that car salesmen like this still exist. They certainly lost out on a very easy, profitable sale. We would have been in and out in 45 minutes. I should have known not to deal with these people when another woman stormed out of the store swearing and yelling 20 minutes earlier. Apparently we are not the only people they decided to insult today. Instead of a used M3 sitting in a showroom since June, we are going to purchase a brand new luxury vehicle from a DIFFERENT dealer. I can''t wait to tell everyone I know to NEVER shop at Richards Motorcars. Pros: none. Cons: rude salespeople, low inventory, damaged cars, bad area more

Do Not Trust this Dealership 1/19/2010

I purchased a used 2003 Toyota 4runner from this dealership in May of 2009. I dealt with a sales person named Peter. Richards Motor Cars sold me a vehicle that has an intermittent but severe problem starting the engine. The vehicle was sold for market price with no discounts and I was told that it had no known mechanical problems by the sales man, who I now know is a bold faced liar. The vehicle had this problem from day one. Unfortunately for me I was unable to bring this vehicle back to the dealership to have it repaired within their time frame because I and the vehicle had to leave town after the sale, which I had explained to the sales person because I had tried to expedite the process. When I started the vehicle on the lot the first time I looked at it we had to use a jump back, not really a big deal since the car had been sitting for extended period of time, or so I was told. The truth however is that the staff knew about the problem and did not disclose the problem to me while I was shopping their dealership. I asked them point blank if the vehicle had any problems and they lied to my face. There is no way they could not have known that this vehicle had this problem since they inspect these vehicle when they receive them in. Also, the 2nd time I test drove the car they insisted on bring it around to the other side of the lot for me and I saw the salesman, his name his Peter, go over to the car with a jump back. They never wanted to let me start the vehicle. And now I know why. I have since brought the car to Toyota to diagnose the problem and even Toyota can not figure it out. Toyota thinks it might be the ECU, which is a 1500.00 plus repair, but aren?t sure and don't really want to do the work because they are not comfortable guaranteeing that it will fix the problem. Richards Motor Cars were aware of this problem, since it occurs almost every time you start the vehicle, before, during, and after the sale. The people who work at that dealership cannot be trusted and I am comfortable in assuming that?s culture fostered by the business owners. Buy a car somewhere else unless you want to be ripped off because these guys are as crooked as they come. Pros: There are no pro's that outway the Cons Cons: Deceitful selling Practices, Vehicles not as Advertised more

Do not buy a car here! 11/24/2009

Bought an Audi A6 2.7T. When I test drove it, the drivers seat didn't have any rips. After waiting 1.5 - 2 hours for them to 'prep' the car, the seat had a rip. Their response, ""Um, yes it did."" I noticed that the sales manager had driven off right before they gave me the car. What was he driving, an A6 2.7t. My guess is that they swapped seats. On the way home the car started to shimmy at highway speeds so bad that it was almost not drivable. Unfortunately, they were closing and I'd have to bring it back on Saturday. Brought it back and they said they couldn't balance the tires and put brand new ones on it. About a week later I had a blow out, for no apparent reason. The wrecker driver told me that the tire was not new, it was used. A month or so later, the torque converter went. Thankfully the car was still under the mfg warranty. Traded it in a week later. The worst part is they put the plates off of my old car on the new one. That's not legal in NH. They said it was okay. more

Do not pass go... 6/17/2009

Salesman was sarcastic and flip and apparently did not want to sell a car or make any money. They apparently have enough business and do not need new customers. Cons: Worst sales team ever! more

Excellent Service! 5/15/2009

Frank Bonanno went above and beyond to make sure that we were well taken care of. Our entire experience from the first meeting to the final car handoff has been great. Everything was done perfectly, on time and exactly as we discussed. Their prices are very competitive (I shopped around a lot), and they are no-haggle prices, which is actually nice - takes the stress out of the buying process. I highly recommend this place! Pros: Low prices, attentive staff, timely delivery more

2005 Cadillac SRX purchase 12/30/2008

I don't normally write of good experiences simply due to the fact I expect good experiences everywhere I go no matter what it is I'm doing. However, During a recent vehicle shopping expedition I came across a website that caught my attention for Richards Motorcars. I was originally looking for a SAAB and found what I was looking for. The vehicle I found appeared to be the cleanest looking and had the most detailed pictures also the lowest mileage of all the SAAB vehicles I was looking at as well as the best price! I went to the link to view Dealer's website and came upon Richards Motorcars. I started looking at the inventory and noticed that all the vehicles listed appeared to be well above average condition, great prices, had very low mileage and in most cases, still under the factory warranty? uncommon to me being in the automobile business for the past 22 years. After looking at all the higher end inventory at Richards, I started to think that whoever was running that operation obviously cared about what they were selling and the prices showed me that they wanted to move vehicles and were in the business for the long haul. I called and was greeted by Jim Iannuzzi (The General Manager) who was very helpful, accommodating and patient. I asked Jim about several different vehicles and he gave me all the answers I was looking for, car faxes, warranties, conditions, prices, etc. Long story short? The wife's happy! Great operation, great vehicles, great people to deal with (you need patience to deal with me), great interest rate and an overall great experience! Thanks, Joe. more

Great service 10/6/2008

I was amazed at the price and the service from Frank Banano. Very professional, honest. I LOVE the fact that the car has such a good deal. Again, thanks to Richards Motosales. Pros: Honest, more

Positive Experience 10/2/2008

Excellent experience purchasing a premium car. Fair pricing and staff friendly, helpful and courteous. Would purchase another car here again. more

Dont recommend them, 6/12/2008

found Richards on line , in a nut shell it looked like a place I wanted to purchase a vehicle from, UNTIL I met the Sales Manager Jim who basicly told me, their prices are their prices PERIOD end ( in a salesy manager sort of way), I asked if I checked around would this be true, he stated yes. I asked around to business owners in town and they had NOT heard of this... The next day I sent an offer in via email ( $3k less than askling price)---received NO response... I Called one day later the sales manager, Jim , he told me.. even if he did lower the price for me, it was not going to be enough to make me jump... and he gave no counter-offer nothing... JUST APPARENTLY DID NOT WANT MY BUSINESS... HOW DOES HE KNOW WHAT WILL OR WILL NOT MAKE ME JUMP.... Personally I am glad I did NOT jump because one of the local business owners on rte 99 I called, referred me to a place that actually WANTS my business, and is looking to retain me as a customer for life. If I was completely turned off before becoming a customer...I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Women... when she went back and said..remeber me to the sales person who snubbed her and showed her all the purchases she made...Her comment: Remember me... Big mistake .."" Recommend at minimum you do your homework and find a place that treats you better... Cons: Customer Service Failed miserable by a manager ! more

worst dealership ever 2/8/2008

The most terrible dealership ever. The service department? Oooo, you don't wanna deal with them, they will make you wait for months, and then refuse to service your car, even though you have bought all the kind of warranties they offered you. They will make you to pay a deductible, which you aren't supposed to pay when your car is being serviced at the dealership from which you have bought it(indicated in the warranty purchased agreement). Yeah, one more thing when after all this you still decide to buy a car from them make sure they don't screw you up on the paperwork. more
