you want to evaluate a hospital, dont stop in occasionaly do like i did stay with your loved one for 6months 7 days a week 12hrs a day you will find out what its like,i had my wife since 95 at mayo in rochester, froedhert,3 hospitals in green bay and by far st lukes is an abomination what a joke,a very uncaring hospital, you can read reviews about how great and caring the treatment is,i never saw that ,my wife went thru 9 hrs of heart surgery, after that (a good money maker)they after 2 weeks said we should let her go,if i would have known the treatment and care she was to get i would have, she was moved to several rooms on intensive care floors 7 and 8 i believe 7 floor south was the best the head nurse asked me about the care my wife had recieved we talked and she started crying and said hoped her girls were better ,they were,my wife had a therapist cough in her face one male nurse came from an infectous room never washed when he came in ,put no gloves on ,whe had to wear gloves and gowns,i talked to nurse he said he forgets ,he also had open sores on hand i complained to head nurse there didnt do much ,i finally found who administrator was took about 4 days nobody seemed to know ,finaly delicatesen told me its mary obrian, talked to here for about 20 minutes, she belongs on snl when i told nurses what she said to me they all laughed, finally after getting my wife all infected they moved her to the 4 th floor in old section, over there things changed ,a wonderful collection of men and women who actually cared, that floor was the best,in closing i was monitoring my wifes oxygen level should be around 100 called nurse said it was going down she said as long as 92 was okay stepped out came in it was 83 started calling she came in aqnd bagged my wife ,she called for respirtary therapist who came in aqd said cant believe this why always fri at 3 i wanted to get home early,so much for that ,he called code i stood in hall people came from all over,2 young girls in doorway laughinf about her 5 yr old,3guys in room laughing . more

Quality care is here. You can wait awhile if you are not dying though. But that is okay. more

St Lukes Hospital 4/5/2006

The emergency room can be really slow here. But you have to take into account the location of this hospital. They are right in the middle of town. And their case volume is big. My step father was a patient here for over two weeks. And they took excellent care of him. They had a hard time figuring out his illness and they ran extensive tests on him until they could figure it out. The nurses and doctors treated him very well. And we were all pleased with the services that they extended for him and the rest of the family. more

St Luke's Medical Center 4/2/2006

St Luke's Medical Center 2900 W Oklahoma Ave Milwaukee, WI 53215 I've been to St Luke's ER and found it to be top notch. My mother was staying with me and she was having issues with a swollen leg. I took her in and they saw her immediately. The staff was great. She got lots of attention. And they sent us on our way after they tested and evaluated her. It did take a while - (what doesn't at a hospital?) but we were very pleased with the care we received. I guess any trip to the ER can be good or bad - depending on your circumstances. Lucky for us - everything went our way! more

Slow Slow Slow.. Just Don't Go!! 4/1/2006

This place is slower than watching sap roll into the bucket from the maple tree. I was just in here the other week with a swollen foot. It took nine hours for them to not diagnose me. They ran all kinds of tests (can't wait to see the bill) and still could not figure it out. Ended up being spider bites and thankfully the antibiotics helped to ease it down. But it was an allergic reaction I was having and they missed it. We waited nearly threehours in the waiting room, along with about fourty other people. Crazy. If you think you are dying...I wouldn't go here...you just might end up dead! more

Don't use the ER! 7/25/2005

I have had nothing but terrible experiences with St. Luke's Emergency Room. I understandt that ER's are busy places and it's basically treated on injury based circumstances, but I had cut the tip of my finger off, was 3 months preggo, and bleeding all over the ER for about 2 hours with no help what-so-ever. A kid that BUMPED his head got in before me, though he was concious and able to walk. I did, however, leave a nice pool of blood on the floor that someone ended up having to clean. Don't go here for emergencies, but def. go for heart conditions. Pros: Heart Hospital/Special Center Cons: LONG Waiting periods! more
