Olde West Gun & Loan Co Inc

I went into this establishment intending to buy a weapon. When someone finally decided to talk to me I found that he was very informed on the weapons I was interested in. However I was shocked at the prices wanted for used weapons. Yes they have the right to charge what they want but please, ridiculous was the first word that came to my mind. When I pointed out that their prices were high I was told I didn't have to buy it. I didn't, I went to a competitors and bought the weapon I wanted from staff who realize that it's not wise to treat customers like dirt. I will not, and have not, recommended Olde West to anyone. They have left a bad taste in my mouth and the only way to get rid of it is to tell people that it is a waste of time to deal with these individuals. more

Olde West is the best place in Redding to buy firearms. They have a huge selection and they are very knowledgeable about what they sell. I have bought many guns from them and will continue to give them my business. I have been to nearly every gun shop in Redding and most of the shops are filled with know-it-all salesman that half the time don't know the guns as well as the people buying them. These people are very polite and will help you find exactly what you're looking for. I have also special ordered a couple guns from here and they always are happy to get you whatever gun you want, even if they don't stock it. more

Ok great place to go waste time and if you don't mind waiting the whole day to buy something its not a bad place but they need to seriously hire some more people I mean when your waiting over an hour just to start talking to someone its a little much I will go back but only because of the stuff customer service sucks more

I visit old west quite a bit and love looking at all the thing they have in there. I would have to agree that getting help in there is difficult. And the only real complaint that I would have is the time I went in to buy my son a rifle for his first year of hunting. I went several times before I chose a rifle. When I made my choice it was one that I looked at on the shelf with the same price tag for I know, was over 2 months. I said I will take it. Someone took it to the back and when they came back they said that the tag had the wrong price and they were going to have to charge like one or two hundred dollars more for it. Well I started to get angry and then thought to myself no that will do nobody any good. So I say ok I understand that mistakes can be made but work with me on this one. The tag says one thing your telling me a price that is quite a bit more, lets meet somewhere in the middle. They wouldnt have it. So I walked out. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! They are extremely rude, unfriendly and over priced! They mark their guns WAY above MSRP pricing. The associates that I've talked to don't seem to know much about they're products. I know more about their firearms then they do. **DO NOT GO TO OLD WEST** more

They're selling used first gen XBox system for $89.99 with one controller... You can go to 'Bog Bean' or 'Software Etc' and buy a used/refurbished for $34.99+one controller and %50 off a game. They have a large selection of manual lenses, they think is good for digital only and are selling them close to MSRP. Some of these lenses are growing fungus and have oil on the blades. i.g. a 'Nikon 55mm micro' on eBay or at Crown Camera sells for $40/45 used and in MINT condition, Old West wants $98, scratched glass, oil on blades, scratched body and dinged hood. Old West doesn't want to sell items, they only want them to collect dust. Another, example, They're selling Husqvarna chain saws (Rancher) for FULL MSRP - used unknown use on engine life and bad chains. You can go to a local Husqvarna in Redding and buy a new saw; w/ 2 year warranty for less!!! Husqvarna rancher 42" blade sells @ Old West for $349 worn and used. They will not drop the price. more

I drive from Red Bluff because we have nobody of Olde West caliber here. I have been doing business with Dan, Colie, Brian, Bob, and the rest of the staff at Olde West for several years. I have bought pistols, ammo, supplies, and had my guns cleaned and repaired several times. I also bought a very nice men's combo amethyst/diamond ring last year from Colie, who put it on layaway and was very patient with me, cuz it was a large purchase. I have searched for my birthstone ring for decades, and they had the perfect ring, and at 35% off after I eyed it for a year! My experience with Olde West staff has always been very professional and courteous, and the gun staff very knowledgeable. I believe they are very fair on price and service. I highly recommend them. My tip would be for customers to ask more questions, like I do. No such thing as stupid questions. Thanx, guys! more

i have lived in redding for 50 years and had many dealings with ole west. thay have been the best to deal with. and when i was down on my luck they treated me with the up most respect. thank you for being there . joe schmitz more

im writing in reply to the remarks from a gentleman that wrote about the staff at the pawn shop...me and my family have been doing business with this shop for about 25 years we have never had any problems with the staff accept when i broke the silent rule... i myself tryed to buy a ring from another customer i got a little embarrassed when confronted about it but the truth is their a business and i took my spankin why couldn`t you it`s just bad business to do it I dont hold any grudges nor should you...I`m still a loyal customer and will be for years to come..... thanks to all of you for your years of business and service im a very satisfied costomer...so im writing this to say to anyone the people that work and own this shop even when the costomer is wrong they still treat you like your part of their family so on that note thanks to all of you........ more

I needed to buy several items as a gift for a family member and didn?t have the first clue where to start. The staff was very helpful in assisting me in figuring out what exactly I needed to get for the birthday present. I went here because the place was recommended to me by several local law enforcement officials. They have a large selection of handguns, rifles, and shotguns. They also sell gun and hunting accessories and ammo and have a pawn shop too. Their prices were better than several other stores I checked at. more

The Olde West Gun and Loan company is fun and you can find all sorts of things to buy, or sell. I had the gun smith fix an old gun of mine very cheep. I have bought several guns here and always been happy with my purchase. Jewelry is in many cases with a lot to choose from. Prepare to spend hours looking at all the goods more
