Nikolas Pizza Newport

I was in Newport for a week and ate a bbq chicken pizza from here at nikolas. It was ok, nothing great but good. Certainly not as good as the BBQ Chicken Pizza I had at Via Via on Thames st. Via Via uses an all wood oven and the wood imparts a great flavor on the dough as the dough is placed directly on the bottom of the brick oven without using a pan, the crust is simply amazing. Nikolas uses a pan for their pizza and that added oil really weighs their pizza down. more

nikolas pizza is my favorite restaurant! not only is it great for hanging out with friend, but you can also go with the whole family. i love the seating arrangements, and the patio is to die for. especially at night with it's trees all lite up. plus they've got the best food in town. no dought better than via via's. the service is also always great! they're food, whether it's Greek, Italian, Brazilian, or American, is absoplutely positivley delicious! but watch out for Friday and Saturday nights because they're usually busy with the locals of Newport. Via Via is one of the more solid pizza places on the island. The atmosphere in the small restaurant is comfortable, the service from the girls behind the counter is good (not a full service restaurant however...counter pick up style). The pizza is above average, the wings are excellent, the sandwiches are pretty good. They also deliver and do a decent job of that (I have waited over an hour for delivery on more than one occasion though). \r \r Overall, a pretty good pizza place.
