I wouldn't go again 5/30/2006

I was very dissapointed. I've been to other Mongolian BBQs and LOVED them. This place only has a selection of about 5 vegetables. I am a vegetarian and it was not worth it for me. Also, while the price is fair compared to other restaurants, it is expensive compared to other mongolian bbqs. more

best bang for your buck in newport 5/29/2006

If you're looking for ambience or health food, go somewhere else. You're not going to like eating here, anyway. But, if you're looking for something quick and delicious and very possibly greasy (you get to choose how your food is prepared, including the amount of oil used [hint: more is better]), Pan Asia is the ticket. It's a somewhat sketchy little hole-in-the wall, the service can be inattentive, and the task of keeping track of one's food may be a little too cognitively taxing for the inexperienced/mentally deficient. For a restauraunt in its class (full sit-down chinese meal, with tax and tip, for less than $8), these things cannot be held against it. It's a bit scruffy, but that's what makes it good. protip: pour some hot tea on your frozen meat shreds and squish them down with the bottom of your tea cup before piling on the vegetation. Pros: delicious, fast, cheap Cons: inattentive service, "confusing", very busy at night more

Decent BBQ, but I've had better. 12/31/2005

They gave decent portions of meat however they do it for you so you can't select your own slices of meat. The selection of vegetables was poor: there were only about 6 options like sprouts, broccoli, celery, green & white onions, cilantro, and carrots. That's it! The selection of sauces was below average as well. The all you can eat dinner was $10 - a good value if you're really hungry, but if you're taking out it is $6.50 for one bowl. Portions were average to slightly small. Pros: affordable takout, fast service, friendly Cons: low variety of vegs more

Mongolian Bar-B-WHAT?? 6/17/2005

Service was not attentive to our table, outside of providing a quick seat. The vegetable selection is limited to cabbage, sprouts & onions, carrot slivers and celery. The layout is not condusive to a well functioning BBQ. There is no ""line"" per say, and it's difficult not to get in eachother's way as you try to determine who's bowl of finished product is who's. And last, but not least, the cleanliness of the restaurant is questionable (as you are seated and ignored, you have plenty of time to notice these things). Cons: limited menu, poor service, set up more
