The Missouri Botanical Garden is on my "must-visit" list of things to do in St. Louis every time I go there. There are large, showy beds of peonies, tulips, pansies, roses, iris, and lilies when these flowers are in season. There are many fountains, there is a large Japanese garden section which is particularly beautiful in the winter. There is a building and associated garden plots devoted to the home gardener, and of course, a gift shop from which can be purchased specimens of many plants. The Missouri Botanical Garden is an enduring attraction for me because it is always changing and there is always something new to see.
Pros: variety, beauty
Cons: too many memorials, sometimes hot, sometimes crowded
