My favorite place to get my nails done. 7/25/2011

I've been going to this salon for about a year and it has been my favorite place to get my hair and nails done. It is the friendliest environment and the stylists make sure they do your hair to your want/needs. If there were any reason you didn't absolutely LOVE your hair this salon will make sure that the changes necessary for your happiness to be met. The owner is always thinking of others, she wants everyone to be happy and wants business to go well. If you haven't already please stop by to see how you like it. more

I loved the hair cut that I got from here. I left it all in the stylist hands. All I asked for was an easy manageable style. That's exactly what I got. I have a really different cut than what I would have chosen, and I love it. more

Nail technician cut me until I bled three times 6/12/2011

My nail technician CUT me until I bled THREE TIMES, twice on my feet, and once on my hands. I have been getting the occasional manicure and pedicure for the past 12 years, and this has NEVER happened to me before. Do not go here for nail services. I am ashamed to say that I gave my technician a 20% tip because I didn’t want a confrontation about her poor service, but I plan to call the manager of the salon this week and tell her why I don’t plan to return to the salon. The cuts on my cuticles sting. After she cut me the first time, I winced, and she asked me "if that tickled" and I said, "No, it hurt!" Once I started bleeding, she had to dab up the blood, and then cut me two more times! Don’t spend your money on this place. Additionally, they were overbooked and people with appointments had to wait, but that seems like a small deal compared to bleeding. more

i had such a nice experience in this cozy salon. i went for a mani/pedi. it was excellent! such warm people. it is family owned and operated. utmost service is top priority. at least 4 people checked up on me. i love a place that i can chat if i want to, or just relax and do nothing.i am a little beauty challenged, and they were so helpful. i have nothing against salons where people speak English to you, but speak another language constantly whilst you are being worked on. sometimes it makes me feel uncomfortable because i do not know what they are saying. i am in NO way prejudice. i just think that it is not professional. i quit going to those mass factory salons. i was just going to do my own. i have changed my mind!!! i must support local businesses. especially down town. let's support our city! the only thing....bring meter money. they will help you with that too if necessary. alyssa was excellent. small, local, VERY CLEAN, very green, very good! very important-a great bargin!!! more

I had so much fun with the girls! I threw a bachlorett party for my best friend the staff was so nice they gave us a great deal and even stayed late! We all got awsome mani's and pedi's and my nail polish lasted forever! I definatly will be going back! more

My Favorite! :) 5/16/2011

I was so impressed with their friendly service!! The staff was so personable and genuinely nice which was my favorite thing about the place. I felt like they were all my best friends. I've never been to a salon that has had such an easy going vibe. The girls weren't snooty or stuck up like most salons. I was very happy with the results, my nails looked awesome! My nail tech did a wonderful job and wanted me to be happy with the service. I would recommend Mid City to anyone and everyone. I'm so glad I found this place, my friends and I will DEFINITELY be back. more

Yay Mid City Salon 5/15/2011

I had a horrible experiance with my hair at another salon, they fried i so badly I had to have it cut boy short. I went to place after place trying to explain that I wanted my hair to grow out and so I needed a cut that would work with my hair while it grew. I ended up with a mullet. Very unattractive until I went to mid city salon with teresa! She did a wonderful job and I go once a month for a cut and color now! more

I love this salon 5/4/2011

I have had both nails and hair done at this salon. It is small, intimate and very fun. When I have had my pedis done here they have lasted for 2 to 3 weeks and I have problem nails. I love having pedis done here because I love knowing that the bowls have been properly cleaned ( I got a nail fungus from ANOTHER solan that used nail chairs with the bath included in the chair). I love that the techs will do the service the way that I ask, they are kind and polite and they offer me advice on how to care for mani to extend my service before I have to return. This is a wonderful place, busy always and wonderful! It is always easier to write bad things than it is to write praise for someone, so I am sorry that I have not written this before, but I really do enjoy going here. more

Worst experience ever! 5/3/2011

I came in from out of town for a wedding and all of the girls decided to do a groupon and get our nails done. This experience was one of the worst I have ever had at a salon. Not only was the place in need of a deep cleaning but some of the staff were EXTREMELY unprofessional. The nail tech who did my manicure cut my cuticles in a number of places and I bleed for a full five minutes as she continuously poured stinging anticeptic on my cut fingers. She then did nothing but complain about the groupons that her salon participates in. She kept saying "This would normally cost you $55 but because you used a groupon it only costs you $20" - "Do you know what a groupon is?" - This salon needs to figure out how to handle customers in a professional manner without hacking up there hands. I could have done a better job on my own! If I could give a ZERO I would! more

If you are looking for quality..this is not the place!! 4/26/2011

This was something my sisters and I did together for a birthday gift. It was a horrible experience. We made the appt a week in advance. When we got there only one girl was there STILL doing hair. So one sister got started. Then my other sister had to wait 10 minutes for someone else to get her started. THEN I had to wait almost a half hour. When we made the appt they said 1 hour max for the pedi and mani. Yeah 2 hours later and a horrible job!! Our manicures PEELED off two days later. My pedi was such a half ass job! I got a white tip done and she had missed half the nail. They were not very professional at all. If they are going to keep doing groupons they NEED to learn how to manage the clientel instead of crap jobs! more
